  1. After 50 posts your rep will turn green and be worth one point. But don't let that stop you! Everyone enjoys a nice word, even if it doesn't "count". ;)
  2. We got two puppies at the same time, but not from the same litter. It worked well for us, and they are very happy to have each other. I would say that if you ultimately plan to have two anyway, you might as well go through the puppy stage with them at the same time. Double trouble, but you only have to go through it once.
  3. With all else being equal (purely hypothetical situation of course) this was my thought, too.
  4. Uh, yeah. I can't decide if it's a strength or a weakness. The one time I backed down on standing up for what I believed was right was when I was told by a priest that if I went to the bishop about what a nun was (very inappropriately) doing, I had better "make sure at every moment I was right with God" because of what she might do for revenge. I decided that wasn't worth it. Otherwise, yeah. I do. And good for you for standing up for what you believe in. Too many people don't.
  5. Oh yeah, just thought I should add, you aren't allowed to sell Teacher or Student Pages on that board. They are considered "intellectual property" since they are part of the OLS.
  6. Here ya go! I typically cut the retail price in half and then add shipping and so far it has worked well. Good Luck!
  7. Ketchup was a Christmas present growing up in our house. :tongue_smilie:
  8. See what a political nincompoop I am? I didn't even know about that brouhaha. :blushing: I will go back to quietly lurking on these kinds of threads. :leaving: No beating here, beansprouts!
  9. Don't apologize. I'm not sure how I came across (not in the way I intend to here lately) but I was just truly surprised that people honestly believe that about the Clintons. And obviously you aren't the only one who has thought that. I usually don't even discuss politics (beyond a philosophical level) or politicians, but that statement just surprised me. I mean, I have my opinions about Bill and Hillary, but murder isn't something I would have connected with them. I was just curious about whether you suspected them, or their supporters.
  10. Is it because you think the Clintons would have someone kill him, or because a Clinton supporter would have him killed? Either way, that's a rather shocking thought that would never have occurred to me.
  11. Although we ended up not moving until dd had finished her expander stage, we had asked, and our ortho also said that if we were making payments, we would just pick those up with the new ortho, and if we had paid in advance we would get a refund. We are supposed to move into phase 2, and did an initial consult with an ortho here then called my old one to compare prices, and apparently the new one's price is better. So, pricing may be a regional issue too. As far as driving, that would depend on how far of a drive it is. (Did I miss that in a post?) Oh, and I do remember our ortho saying we wanted to find one that uses similar techniques, but I'm guessing if yours gave you the name of the appliances then that would be all you would need when talking to a new one. Luckily, they all seem to give free consults.
  12. I've had good luck with homeschoolclassifieds in the last week, as well as posting here. I posted my K12-specific stuff on the K12used board, and most of it sold within minutes. So, depending on what you're selling, if there are boards specifically for any of it, that's a great way to start. I've had good luck in the past with eBay, but just decided to try listing at the other places first. I really like homeschoolclassifieds because it is so easy to search, and you don't have to keep bumping it up like you do here and vegsource.
  13. Scrambled eggs, tater tots/hashbrowns, hashbrown casserole, corn dogs, meatloaf, onion rings, raw onion, patty melts. My daughter also thinks it goes well with mashed potatoes and steak, but I don't share her conviction.
  14. Yes yes yes! :iagree: Tuna salad without Miracle Whip is like scrambled eggs without ketchup! Wrong. Just wrong!
  15. If Apex uses the same Algebra book that K12 uses (Algebra Structure and Method, Book 1) you can use the online helps from this website.
  16. Well, I've given out lots of rep, and have only had one person thank me, so I don't think it's the standard, but it was very nice to get the "thanks". But then I wondered if I should send a "you're welcome" message. But I think that might have been pushing it a bit too far. :) So, I think it's nice to do, but not expected.
  17. K12 is a great curriculum. If you haven't already joined but are interested, there is a yahoo group called K12Gifted where I am sure you could get a lot of great advice about using the curriculum with an advanced student.
  18. Yeah, I actually broke my rule and started watching Buffy on the season 5 finale. I was hooked after that. Bought the previous seasons and caught myself up. Joss Whedon is my hero.
  19. I didn't start Northern Exposure from the beginning, which is the only way I like to watch a series. I think I would like that one, though. Maybe I should do the Blockbuster thing. I don't even know anything about Arrested Development. Don't hate me.
  20. There have only been three tv series that I have ever laid down the cash to own on DVD: Buffy, Firefly, and LOST. They are the only shows I can watch over and over and over and enjoy a little more every time. :lurk5:
