  1. My dh says that they are taking a year off. Choke, gasp!!!! Is this true or is season 4 going to start sometime soon?
  2. It seems to me that there is a certain time in August when one can see many meteors. Can anyone tell me the date? We live in Central Texas if that helps. Thanks!
  3. old enough? I really can not believe that I just posted a question about cow poo but I really appreciate this. This is the stuff that I have the greatest access to and if I could use it without burning the plants - well that would be great. Thanks!
  4. We are in Central Texas if that helps. Thanks for the response!
  5. It seems to me that the timing is important so if you are not planting for a while.... I hope to put plants in soonish. A
  6. Does everything including grass clippings and really old cow manure need to compost? I am trying to improve my garden soil before the fall garden which I need to plant in 7-10 days. Thanks!
  7. I just love this board! TY for the good ideas and links.
  8. I took him for a walk (on a leash) this morning - a reeeeeealy long one up and down hills. Today he has been an angel. Why is it that a one hour leash walk wears him out more than an hour of charging around the pasture like a lunatic? Hornblower the links you gave me have wonderful information. I am going to get started right away - I plan on involving the whole family. I am fostering this guy. I believe that he spent much of his life until now in a crate with little interaction with his prior family. I love him alot and really would want with all my heart to be the turning point in his life. OTOH I have other pets as well as children and need to look out for their wellbeing. Thanks as usual. Of to the butcher for some knuckle bones (advice from a different post by Hornblower). BTW he is neutered. Alexandra
  9. I have an 18 month old Standard Poodle. One one hand I really like him. He is sweet and very smart. OTOH he is annoying and concerns me. He plays very rough with my 9 month old Catahoula. More worrisome yet is that if he is lying down (but awake with head up) and someone gets too close he growls. I the last 2 days he has growled at 3 people - one child, dh as well as me. He got a swat but it seems to have made no impression. How should I respond to this? I am seriously debating whether this dog can stay here. Thanks as usual for any help with this. Alexandra
  10. Barton Reading was the turning point for my dyslexic. I also read The Gift of Dyslexia and my son did the one week program. It was a complete waste of money. Good bye $3,000.
  11. I have come across two contraptions a Springer and a WalkieDog. Does anyone here have any thoughts on either of these two items? If you have an different product perhaps you would like to mention the name. Thanks
  12. I had heard that it was a really good program and I netflixed it for dh and me. I really hadn't heard any of the details.
  13. it is if you want to have any maintain a serious attitude about REAL news that is... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38238685/ns/technology_and_science-science/?Gt1=43001

  15. Wne do they occur and where in the digestive tract are the symptoms felt? Is it in the stomach or in the gut? Thanks!
  16. I really enjoyed listening to Truman by McCullough. Also, I recently got a cd by David Sedaris read by him. I don't remember what the name was but the first story is about visiting his sister. My husband and I both wept we were laughing so hard. You should know that Sedaris is pretty open about being gay. Alexandra
  17. I searched the WTM boards and came across someone mentioning a City Pass. Is that for public transportation or museums? Also is public transportation pretty easy to use? Thanks so much!
  18. for you and your mil as well as kids.
  19. I vote for keeping going as well. Even though it is middle of summer - Fall is just around the corner. You will want to have BFing whe all the nasty little viruses and bugs are going around when it starts getting colder. I think that many women quit because the think that bfing is stressful when really just having a little one can be stressful all by itself. Now add buying and preparing formula to your workload...
  20. I am the OP and the individual that I referred to did not qualify for hospice and seemed to have a little improvement after that bad spell in February. I appreciate all the great feedback and based upon what I read would seriously consider that path if the MD suggested it at some point in the future. Thank you!
  21. Wow! I must say I was surprised - I just love an upset!
