If you have a skirt with an elastic waist band you can slip it on before going into church and remove it after. I always had shirts with sleeves anyway. Have some money changed in advance of arriving. Keep your money close to your body. Leave a copy of important papers with someone stateside. have a great time.

Does this sound like a problem dog to you?
Alexandra replied to Alexandra's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My husband just mentioned that the chihuahuas have been ganging up and chasing the poodle. He had seen it happen earlier in the week. That certainly makes me a little more sympathetic to Rocco the poodle. Sigh! Why can't we all just get along! Thanks Alexandra -

This is how he treats my other dogs. I have two big dogs. Rosie is a female and afraid of her own shadow (she was a stray) and she gets ignored. Charlie is a catahoula and is 9 mos old. The poodle has started trying to mount him. I also noticed a little area that has some hair missing on Charlie's backside ( maybe he got nipped?). It is hard to know if this is normal heirarchy forming stuff or if I have a problem. Right now I have the poodle tied to my belt on a 3 ft leash. He seems to sort of like it! Thank you for the yahoo discussion suggestion. I will look at that some this evening. -
I am fostering a Standard Poodle male, 15 mos, neutered. He is one of the nicest dogs - he loves everyone including kids. The only problem is that he dislikes the chihuahuas. I have 2 male chihuahuas that don't think too much of the poodle either. Last night there was a scuffle with growling and the chihuahuas started yelping and acting like they were being killed. The poodle snapped at them but did not make contact. Now I am afraid to have them together (they're not) and wonder what I could have done to prevent it. Can this doggie marriage be saved or do I need to hurry and find a new home for this mostly wonderful dog? I feel so sad becuase this guy has had a tough time already and I wanted to be a safe harbor for him. Alexandra

I will be getting a 15 month Standard Poodle male. I have a male Catahoula (9mos) a stray female who is very submissive and 2 middle aged chihuahuas. I think that Caesar Milan would say to have both groups of dogs walk (separately) before they are intoduced. I also think that the introduction should happen on neutral ground....? Other than that does anyone have some tips on how to do this peacefully? Thanks so much!

T-tapp users, some???
Alexandra replied to momof3treasures's topic in General Education Discussion Board
it was hard for me to feel like I was doing the exercises perfectly. It really requires concentration to tuck that rear end for 30-40 minutes. I also noticed some back discomfort that was not there before ttapp. I really like Circuit Training with Jackie Warner. It cost $15 at Target. It is very taxing and easy form tips that even an easily distracted person like me can keep up with. -

Does this help them lay more eggs? -
I don't know either brand or company but I want to tell you that you should have the company that installs the floor also provide the flooring. If you buy the wood and then hire an installer, you might be in a pickle if anything goes wrong. I am talking from experience. If it were me, I would buy from the best flooing co. in town and have them install it.

We had our accountant do our taxes based with a SEP IRA contribution. Is it too late to send it in? Our accountant filed an extension, so we could easily have her do the return without the SEP IRA this year. We would just prefer to make the contribution - we never miss doing this! Can't believe we forgot!!!

Losing more weight when *not* exercising??
Alexandra replied to Erica in PA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I can't say I have any track record to quote here but...I agree. I was reading Fat Flush and realized that her diet was way too low in calories as well as very tedious. However, I was interested it trying it with more calories. I have been following a FF/WW hybrid for a few days now. I eat NO grain and minimal dairy. I have lost 1.5 pounds and 3/4 of an inch from my waist just this first week. I can't really shout that from the roof tops but what is SO amazing to me is how easy it makes staying with in my points allotment. I just don't get grumpy-hungry, or frantic-hungry...gone also is bored-hungry. KWIM all those types of hungry that undermine you around...say 3 o'clock in the afternoon? I also work out a little. I walk leisurely every day and have strted this tape. http://www.amazon.com/Personal-Training-Jackie-Power-Circuit/dp/B002L6HDAQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1271507308&sr=1-1 I do this tape about 2x/week. -
I think my dh might be getting this. He has had it before. I bought some Knudsen Cherry Juice - both sweet and tart. He is drinking plenty of water. Any other ideas to help minimize pain? TYVM!

Recommend books on kids w/ dyslexia?
Alexandra replied to Alicia64's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I would be watching carefully but not seeking a diagnosis just yet. I wanted to add that my dyslexic is a big guy. He was a little chubby before puberty. Now he is big and muscular - like a linebacker. He was dysgraphic as well. Could not spell "the" at age 12. Was the "Worst I have ever seen" according to his special ed teacher in 2nd. Could not tie his shoelaces until age 13. Now... He is on the Junior Honor Society. Made 100% on the state reading test. His writing/spelling is...not great. Loves public school after 6.5 years of homeschooling. What worked for us was Barton Reading. Good luck! -

He is super-destructive. Yesterday he destroyed 2 lawn chairs and my sunglasses. I need to give him something he likes. I have heard rawhide can cause obstructions. Could I give him beef bones? If so, are they supposed to be raw? Titanium scraps perhaps...:glare: he does not like traditional toys like rope and kongs. He is 8 mos old - shouldn't he be outgrowing this? I take him for a long walk where he has free run of pastures for almost an hour a day. He is a Catahoula btw - really stubborn and naughty dogs!

I don't man the grill - my dh does. I would love to surprise him with a really good steak sometime. Do I marinade it? What cut of meat would make the best steak? He likes it a little rare - how do you tell if it is ready? I am clueless and I worry that I would produce this flavorless, grey, dry roofing shingle! Thanks for any tips, ideas or recipes!!

http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1977760,00.html I was surprised at some of the statistics! I hope this information encourages employers in the area of allowing workers time to pump during the workday. When I was a teacher, I was given time off to do this but I always wondered how would that work if I had been an hourly employee somewhere else....
