  1. http://wellplannedday.com/WPDPreReleaseSpecial.aspx Their website is kind of weird. You have to click on the special price and it takes you to the page with the samples.
  2. For me I just ordered the Well planned day planner. I have not used it before but I like that it seems to have everything all in one for me(school and home) and I don't have to print it myself at home. Plus, I love the colors!:)

  4. My MIL isn't to bad. But of course, we hardly ever see or talk to her. Most of her comments are directed toward dh. In her eyes, he is not successful. She judges success by how much money you make and how you dress. There has never been one day that there has not been food on our table or one time we have ever gone with out anything we truly wanted. But we don't live in a big house or make a ton of money, so dh is not successful. The only thing that she has ever said directly to me is that I need to spend more time on myself. :glare: She thinks I should spend money on getting my nails and hair done and buying fancy namebrand clothes. She also thinks I should be wearing these nice fancy namebrand clothes while I crawl around on the floor playing and teaching my kiddos!:) MIL's oldest daughter is married to a millionaire and she wants that for dh. She is always ragging on him about how he dresses. He wears jeans and a polo shirt to work. He is a computer guy. This is what his work tells him to wear! But MIL doesn't understand why he doesn't wear a suit and tie around everywhere!:)
  5. I always hate taking my kids in for well checks. When I saw the news last night that they closed all of Ft. Worth schools. My first thought was nope we are not going! My dh thinks I am over reacting but our doctor's waiting room is always full! We live in Denton so we are right by Ft. Worth. I am probably over reacting but oh well. We can go another time. When I called to cancel the lady that answered the phone was very frazzled. So, I think they were probably grateful that we canceled!!:)
  6. I just did the same thing today! I just could not see taking my health kids into the doctor right now.
  7. Thanks for the advice! I will look into all of them. I have seen the proactiv commercials on tv but didn't know if it really worked.
  8. We are entering into puberty!! It is like over night her skin has become pimple city! She is freaking out. I have not had to deal with pimples for over 15 years. What is new out there to help with the battle?? I was going to ask her doctor today at her well check appointment but I canceled. I was to afraid we would end up with the swine flu if we went to the doctor!! Lori
  9. I think the one you are talking about is was Dawne's!:) http://livingundergrace.wordpress.com/ I don't know if she still has pictures up or not. I LOVE her school room!!:)
  10. Awesome. Thank you all so much. I am going to have dd take the pre test tomorrow and see where she places. Thanks!
  11. I am wondering if Teaching Textbooks is worth the money. We have been using MUS for the past 4 years but dd needs a change. She wants more variety not just division all year!:) I need a program for her to do mostly on her own so I can help my little ones. Thanks, Lori
  12. Thanks for the replies. I am going to look into Brain's Gym. I haven't heard of that. He hates to draw and will only do it if I force him to!:) And then it is only a scribble. His 5 year old brother is passing him up on a lot of things. But ds7 doesn't seem to care. We do almost all of his school work orally. He is way ahead in reading. Spelling and math he is right on target. I just can't read his answers!:)
  13. Our ds is 7 1/2. He has always been on the slow side with motor skills. Gross motor and fine motor skills. Early Childhood Intervention worked with him when he was a baby. He was late holding his head up, sitting up, rolling over, walking. All of those big things. Plus, he had trouble stacking toys. Well, they stopped coming when he was around 18 months. Once, he started walking he seemed to just take off and not have any problems. I am starting to worry about him again. He is 7 and can not color in the lines and he can't write on a line to save his life! He cries when I make him write to much. Hates anything to do with art. He does have slight strabismus(his eyes wonder). But so slight that the doctor doesn't think he needs any therapy or treatment at this time. The doctor seems to think he is doing fine. He is not into sports at all. He can jump rope and run, but can not skip. He can't bounce a tennis ball either. A basketball he has no problem with but he can't bounce anything smaller. He gets very upset and frustrated. Just wondering if this is normal for anyone else's ds, that are around this age? Is there anything that you all do to work on fine motor skills? He can play any video game out there with no problem and he also has no problem building with Legos. I am wondering if he is just not into art, sports and writing and that is why he has trouble with them or if there is an actual problem. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts or advice. Thanks, Lori
  14. We are starting our human body study in a couple of weeks. I'll have a 1st, 3rd, and 7th grade. Some books we are using are My Body, Head to Toe Science, and Easy Make and Lean projects: the Human body., plus a lot of MSB books and videos. I even got the MSB science kits for the human body and germs. We are going to have so much fun!:) HTH, Lori
  15. We just got done doing Ancient China!:) There are tons of good links at Tapestry of Grace's website in the Loom under year 1 Unit 2 week 12. We also used History Pockets of the Ancient world. My kids had tons of fun with that. We looked up on the internet how to write the kids name in Chinese and we also watched some videos on You Tube of Dragon Dances, which my kids loved. Lori
  16. Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to try to piece this together on my own with out buying the big curriculum package. Our library has some of the books and amazon has the cds for only $2.98 each. So, I can just buy them as we need them. This looks like a great program and I am glad others are enjoying it. Thanks, Lori
