  1. Here ya' go: http://www.tfdnews.com/news/2011/02/04/78272-how-did-queen-kings-speech.htm I loved it, too!
  2. Sure, I'd paint subfloors. Here's a blog where she painted her subfloors, along with her year-later update. Here's a lady that is in the process of painting the subfloors in her bedroom (you can see her painted floor in the second image).
  3. Yeah, well, it's no Lawrence. ;) :grouphug: What a sad story. I'll keep the family in my prayers. Safe travels for your DS and DIL.
  4. Are there other people out there, like me, who have to pay MORE for recycling? If we'd like to recycle, there is an extra fee. And our city wonders why the percentage of recyclers is lower than the national average. :glare:
  5. Oh Tap, I don't even know you and I'm crying tears of joy for you!:party::hurray:
  6. Yep. After 3 days of trying, I set up a new account with a new email address and was able to order.
  7. It looks like research is showing that we don't know it all. This guy lost 27 lbs., lowered his LDL by 30%, raised his HDL by 30%, and lowered his triglycerides by 39%... on his Twinkie diet. There are some excellent questions posed in the article. Does this mean he's now healthier after eating Twinkies and Little Debbies for 10 weeks? Has his risk of cancer gone up from eating junk? While it was clearly a stunt diet, it has raised some important questions. http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html Just thought I'd throw this in the mix. :001_smile:
  8. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I'm continuing to keep you in my prayers.
  9. Thank you for the update. You are still in my prayers. :grouphug:
  10. :iagree: I feel guilty about drinking soda pop while pregnant because I don't drink it AT ALL any other time, but it completely calms my stomach.
  11. Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting is my favorite.
  12. The Pillars of the Earth. These quotes from other Amazon reviewers pretty much sums it up for me: (emphasis mine) http://www.amazon.com/Pillars-Earth-Ken-Follett/product-reviews/0451166892/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar
  13. How do you plan weekend meals? We're coming off another packed weekend. It was filled with way too much take-out and drive-through. Usually on Saturday mornings, we are tackling BIG household chores. I'm working right alongside DH and the older children. By lunch time, we are famished and tired. This results in someone making a trip to the local fast food restaurant for take-out. Do you stop working a half-hour before lunch and go make lunch? Do you plan on simple lunches that family members can make on their own? (Sandwiches, lunch meat, etc?) If so, can you give me some ideas? And what about weekend dinners? I don't mind cooking Monday through Friday, but on the weekends I have the hardest time forcing myself into the kitchen. This is especially true if we've just returned from a family outing. I'm tired. I want to sit down and relax, too. Please help. Let me know what you do. Maybe I just need to suck it up. :glare: Maybe with better planning I can have the best of both worlds. :001_smile: Maybe I should just plan on $500/month (which we don't have) for eating out on the weekends. :tongue_smilie:
  14. Here's a photo of an indoor porch with the blue. It's gorgeous! http://www.younghouselove.com/2010/08/our-sunroom-mini-makeover-phase-two/
  15. http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2009/09/ticker-tape.html Not quite a true crazy quilt, but this would be easy to do sitting in front of the TV - especially if you waited to sandwich it till the end and then tied it.
