Silly question, I know. :001_smile: I was just curious. I'm having trouble getting organized. I feel like I have papers everywhere. If I had the right paper, I guess it could double as handwriting?
Thanks, Judomom!! So, if there's a worksheet I could do that to replace what's in the textbook? I like your idea of picking 3 out of 10, if they're getting the hang of it or only need that much practice.
We have been looking at R&S and CLE LA. My dd8 highly prefers the layout of CLE and moans when she sees the R&S book. *I* would like for R&S to work out. I know it's a solid program and I like that the writing is better than CLE.
Is there a way to make R&S more appealing to my daughter? I know I could do a lot of it orally. I think she just doesn't like all the writing.
Any suggestions? Could I make my own worksheets to go along with R&S?
OPGTR and Abeka phonics help me decide! I used Abeka phonics with my dd8 when she was in 1st grade. I'm getting ready to start phonics with ds6 and dd4 and was wondering if I should go with what I know (Abeka) or try something different. What do you think? Do you think one is better than the other?
Thank you!!
:bigear: I'm just listening in. My dd8 sounds just like your daughter. She is at the end of WWE level 1 and can't tell me the main idea. I feel very behind as well. I hope you figure things out. :-)
I'm lovin' this post!! I love CLE Math! I've been tempted to switch to their LA b/c their math has been so great and easy to implement. After reading this, I want to take a look at their reading!
Faithe: Can I ask you a question? Does CLE have enough writing? It sounds like your children have done well with it. I would love an all in one LA program (I would stay with my spelling though b/c I love it). And the reading-does it cover vocabulary?
Thank you!
We tried Saxon when we first started homeschooling. I liked it, but couldn't stand teaching it. We switched to CLE and have been with it ever since. There is so much more teaching instruction in Saxon that I sometimes wonder if I am missing something, KWIM?
