  1. I have a schedule thats sorta like Sagira's one. I split up the BFSU book and I am doing roughly 2 lessons a month. I figure this way I will split the lessons over 3 years or more. I also am working on nature studies with my elementary kids, so I count that as a science as well.
  2. I truly hope that my son does the same thing in a few weeks. Be glad your DD is doing so well!
  3. They do take 17-20 years or so to mature. It seems like a long long time! But thats the point. This chart shows the maturity time, depending on when the bond was bought: http://www.treasurydirect.gov/indiv/research/indepth/ebonds/res_e_bonds_eeratesandterms.htm And yes, they continue to gain interest up to 30 years after they were issued.
  4. Awwww I adore that book! My kids think its hilarious too. And you found it for $.49?! Thats a steal!
  5. If I am trekking to your house, hoping that you have the right size clothing, for the right gender, and the right season, I expect it to be cheap. $.50 a piece. Though I will pay a bit more if its an expensive brand and in outfits.
  6. I would vote for a laptop. I prefer the laptop to the iPad for typing on things. Even with a keyboard, I cant imagine the iPad being better at note taking and word processing then a laptop is. I love the iPad for surfing online, checking email, watching videos, and the apps. I love my laptop if I actually want to write things down, or do any sort of real computing. I thought I could do my school planning on the iPad but I have found that I am much faster and more efficient on the laptop.
  7. Meh. Its not really surprising. I wonder if she will convert to a different religion now.
  8. DH has an iPad. We are not disappointed. I am currently saving my extra blow money for another one.
  9. I would skip Ebay and list on Craigslist.
  10. 1) where do you live? Western Wisconsin 2) what do you pay for a gallon of milk? $2.25 (NOT ORGANIC) 3) how often do you pick it up? As often as I need milk? Once a week... Sometimes more, sometimes less. 4) how far do you have to drive to get your milk? 15 miles Store bought milk is $4.50 a gallon, unless its on sale.
  11. Wow. I am not yet to the point of writing down next years curriculum, but this looks awesome. Thanks!
  12. My father (living in poverty at an orphanage) actually is the recipient of these boxes in Thailand. He has said the children LOVE the boxes and they are well received. The boxes are a huge hit and the kids get so excited. Our family doesnt put together the boxes because we dont believe in the missionary stance with the organization, but they are well received in Thailand where they are needed.
  13. I'll have a K and a 9th grader in the fall. Plus a 3yo and a baby.
  14. I absolutely LOVE the licorice spice. Mmmmm Though DH says it tastes like Jägermeister. But then there is more for me.... I'll have to try the Meyer Lemon. Thanks!
