  1. Any Olly user out there:  The app is no longer available and I lost all the data on my laptop. backups are corrupted. Is there anyone that would be willing to share the app so that I can restore 10 years of data? Please help! all that work is gone. I do have the database backed up on Dropbox. I only need the app from the applications folderrr

  2. Hi Everyone, OLLY developer here. We released a new update a couple of days ago that should solve the assignment calendar performance issues that people have been having. It is not out yet on the Mac App Store (hopefully in a few weeks) but if you purchased from our store you can go up to Help->Check for Updates to check it out. I hope you all like it!
  3. Singingmom: OLLY is a homeschool planner for Mac. If you are interested our website is at http://www.ollyhomeschool.com
  4. Hi everyone, just letting you all know that the OLLY team is going to be there this weekend. Feel free to stop by the booth if you want to find out more or just want to say hi. :)
  5. (OLLY developer here) sflood: Yes it is possible to use OLLY with multiple kids. But, although it isn't possible to drag assignments from one kid to another, instead you just create courses and lesson plans (the lesson plans contain assignments), and then combine those courses and lesson plans together however you want each year to create learning plans for each kid. The lesson plans are essentially reusable templates that make it easy to create, edit, and assign assignments. I hope that answered your question. :)
  6. ElizabethB: Yep, the assignment generator in OLLY makes it easy to create these types of assignments. If you choose the assignment type "Chapter Subsection", once you have entered some initial information, a page appears to enter in the number of subsections for each chapter, along with an optional topic to apply to all of those subsections. Hit finish and it creates all of the chapter subsections. The final assignments are created in the format "Chapter 3 - 4 Singapore Math Exercise" indicating the 4th exercise in chapter 3 of Singapore math.
  7. shukriyya: Both. The Mac site is talking about the version available on the Mac App Store, and the Mac App Store can't be installed on 10.5. Anyone still on 10.5 though can buy the version from our site and it will work fine.
  8. Hi everyone, Thanks again for all of the great feedback! I am pleased to announce that OLLY has just been accepted into the Mac App Store!! If you are on Snow Leopard and up and would like to buy it from the MAS you can find OLLY at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/olly/id519279964?ls=1&mt=12
  9. The plan is to have the iPad version be standalone, and the iPhone version to require either a Mac or an iPad version to sync to. The idea is that an iPhone will be too small of a screen to have all of the functionality of the full version, so we will be creating it as basically an accessory to the larger versions.
  10. I don't think that it is possible for non-Apple apps to iPad sync via a cable due to security lockdowns that Apple has put in place. But, most Macs from the last five years or so come with bluetooth support, so I will try to build in support for bluetooth syncing. In your top bar there should be a squiggly sort of icon, click it and there should be some bluetooth options, if so than your Mac has bluetooth! More info about bluetooth can be found at: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3887
  11. Wow, I really appreciate the great response everyone! @OhElizabeth Well for now it is going on the Mac App Store, which means that although Apple will be distributing it, it won't yet be available for mobile devices. But, over the next weeks/months I am going to try and figure out a solution for wifi syncing. Once that is figured out, I am going to create a version of OLLY for iPhone and a version for iPad. I don't want to set any firm dates on that though because syncing is rather difficult to design. :P
  12. @KristinaBreece Glad to hear you like it! @OhElizabeth Much appreciated :)
  13. Hi everyone, As you may know, for the last few months we have been working on OLLY, the first ever homeschool planning software for Mac. I am excited to announce that it is (finally) finished and available for purchase from our website! (Available from the Mac App Store soon) I hope you all enjoy. :)
  14. Hi everyone, I have some really big news about the last two months. As most of you may know the OLLY beta was first released about a month ago. During this last month we have been avoiding raising too much more hype so that we could keep up with the feedback and make sure everything was working fairly well. But now we finally have a system in place and we are ready to face the tide of incoming beta testers. If you go to our website at http://www.riversandyears.com/olly/ you can sign up for the newsletter and receive a download link to get started immediately. We also have a new forum for posting suggestions, problems, or other questions. This is a very exciting time for us and I am so grateful to everyone who has participated in this beta. Thank you.
  15. Hi Everyone, I apologize for the lack of updates, we are working hard to get OLLY ready – not just the application but the distribution, licensing, and support features. We are not ready to set any official dates for the final release but the beta should hopefully be ready in a couple weeks. We are still accepting people for the beta program, go onto our website and sign up for the newsletter to get access when the beta is released. We will be closing it after a certain number of people have registered so that we can handle all of the bug reports and feedback so be sure to sign up soon. We do now have a facebook page! You can get to it here. Thanks for all of the suggestions, Wizecoder
