  1. So sorry this happened. This happened to DD with her AP Lang score and it was upsetting, especially since we have no idea when she will get her score. Wonder what is up with college board and all the delayed scores this season. ?
  2. Anyone ever receive a “delayed score code 97?” DD has this message next to her AP Language exam. ?? Anyone ever have this happen? DD and I were both so upset! She did receive a score on her AP Gov (5-yay!) so it wasn’t all her exams, just the one. Thabks for any input.
  3. If the student waives the health insurance does this mean they can not use the university's health services should they need to? Our insurance requires us to go to doctors/hospitals/clinics/etc that are within the BCBS network.....
  4. Oh, Mirabillis, Dd is taking AP Stats next year too! Maybe she will take it with Edhesive! At least this time we won't have to commiserate about the course. Ha ha! ? Thanks for the post & info about Edhesive everyone! Is there ever any interaction with an instructor (through email or something) or is it all done via recorded videos & automatic grading?
  5. BTW - I watched some of the instructor's free videos for the Udemy Music Theory class and he talks about using MUSE SCORE as the music notation program--that is an excellent program! Dd had to learn to use that program quickly to put music she wrote in her head on paper--would have been super helpful to take this course first but I was very excited to see that he teaches music theory from that platform! ? Sounds like an amazing course from what I watched for free! Best of luck to those who are trying it--I plan to purchase soon! Thanks for the recommendations and reassurance about Udemy!
  6. This course looks AMAZING! Just what I was looking for too! However, have you (or anyone else) ever used any "Udemy" courses?? I just googled "Udemy" and the reviews about the company and the customer service as well as some bait and switch stuff they do and overcharging are not pretty. I guess the course is only $10 bucks but I read about a customer that was half way through a course and then the company deleted their course as well as instructors' courses just disappearing. That would stink. Anyone have any experience with Udemy? Dd can't work on course now so I guess I will wait a bit and see what happens but I really love everything about the course! Would you mind letting us know how your Dd does with the course and your thoughts on the company/course, etc? Thank you!
  7. Dd felt very well prepared for AP Gov....seems to be that was the general consensus at her test taking facility (& online--check out the memes--guess the test takers were looking for a bit more challenge-ha!). She is glad it is over and was very happy to shut down all her open webpages that she was studying! Now on to AP Lang! ?
  8. AP Psych for sure! Super class! Manageable test, mainly memorization. My Dd was a Freshman when she took it and she loved it! Still quotes material from the class! ?
  9. I felt the exact same way--Dd's first AP was last year! She will do great! Hang in there! ? Hope the first 2 days have treated everyone kindly! Good luck on the rest!
  10. Dd16 is taking 2 APs this year--AP Lang & Comp and AP US Gov & Politics. She has been ready for AP Lang since March! Favorite subject & class (BlueTent) and feels very prepared! Will do some last minute review once AP Gov is over on Thursday! AP Gov has been a bit tougher. Didn't take an official class and changed materials constantly (although stuck with the original AP Gov textbook) plus it is just not her forte. Dd finally got through the Barron's book yesterday and is doing some further studying. I think she will be ready but definitely stressful trying to complete everything she wanted to do for the course! Good luck to all the exam takers this week and next!
  11. Unfortunately, APEH is on target for the following year for DD because she moved AP Gov to this year & is taking APUSH next year. Sorry we can't join the class. However, you could possibly self-study using Tom Richey's material (https://www.tomrichey.net/ap-european-history.html) and throw in a couple tutoring sessions with him.... College Confidential seems to like Adam Norris & Tom Richey for APUSH, APGov & APEH....lots of good material on their websites or YouTube channels.... Hope the Noah Nation class moves forward...
  12. Absolutely, Satellite! I can't say enough good things about BLUE TENT--my daughter adores the teachers and loves the classes!! She is in AP Lang this year and taking AP Lit next year, both with Brigid Thompson! She took Honors English 2 with Christine Proctor the year before. These courses are a complete "English" course--they cover everything from grammar, vocabulary, literature, writing, etc. They are extremely organized and my daughter has made a bunch of friends in these classes despite them being asynchronous courses. The kids are focused and there to support each other and learn! Blue Tent classes are highly regarded but I know some feel they are too much work but my daughter can't wait to sign on every single Monday morning and see what is next. She enjoys the work and the learning, and never feels that it is too much--although she invests about 8-10 hours a week or so (so think of it as an hour in English class every day plus some homework--reasonable). Happy to provide more detail--pm me. Satellite, I see you took Honors English 2 with Blue Tent (Christine Proctor) - courses are very similar in framework and work load (I might even say the AP course it a little less work but that might be because my DD is very used the way things work at BT now). DD feels VERY prepared for AP Language Exam and still weeks away! As far as AP Environmental Science--we are still on the fence about this course because we have had several friends take this course and they say it is fine...I think you have to understand FLVS courses and what you are getting into. My daughter has taken several FLVS classes: some have been pretty good (Honors Human Anatomy & Physiology), one was horrible (but that was actually with the county virtual school-Honors English 1), one that was great (AP Psych), and others that just got the job done (Honors Econ, Honors Chemistry, Algebra 2, Psychology, etc). We are still waiting on some potential scheduling conflicts for next year so I can't pull the trigger on her science course yet--our first choice is to do the D/E Biology but may still do APES in 12th anyway...will see how things fall out. Again, feel free to PM anytime :)
  13. My daughter took the CurrClick ASL and loved it. Since that is no longer an option, she is now registered with Open Tent Academy for ASL. They use the same curriculum and seemed to be organized (and accommodating to the misplaced students). They are offering a discount for early registration thru 3/14 or 3/15 so if you are interested check them out since you can save $$. Additionally, my daughter took with another provider for ASL the first year and while the instructor was a good teacher and very nice, my daughter felt she learned so much more this past year using the “Signing Naturally†curriculum. Good luck!!!
  14. I am so so sad to hear this news. Miss Marie had not let my daughter’s class know about the closing or that she was no longer continuing. I had emailed earlier in the week to see if the class times would remain the same and never heard back. My daughter LOVES Marie and has learned so much. I am not sure what to do thought because she will be entering her 3rd year of ASL. Does anyone know of anyone offering the 3rd year with the Signjng Naturally curriculum? 😓😓
  15. DD has taken Blue Tent Honors English 2 and AP Lang classes - She LOVED/LOVES them. No info on Bio...Have heard good things about the teacher from Brigid Thompson (who runs Blue Tent)...we are also interested if anyone has any direct feedback?
  16. Hi, Has anyone taken either of these course offerings at THE POTTER SCHOOL TPS? The instructor is David Hammer. Contemporary Music Harmony TPS College Music Theory I would love some feedback on either of these courses. Please feel free to PM if you don't want to post publicly. They seem like great offerings!? Thank you for the help!
  17. For DD 11th grade: English: AP Literature & Composition (Blue Tent - Brigid Thompson- we LOVE Blue Tent!) Math: Pre-Calculus (Mr. D Math - also love) History: AP US History (FLVS, I think) Science: DE Biology w/Lab or Biology Honors (Blue Tent) or AP Environmental Science (FLVS??)--this depends on days/times/schedule Lang: ASL 3 (ASL Academy - Marie Harvey) Fine Arts: Music Theory (WTMA? DE?) Elective: Health (FLVS) Elective: Dialects?? (Home Grown) or Music Around the World (FLVS) or Acting (??) Just a start, not completely certain about Science, Fine Arts, or Electives
  18. For DD 11th grade: English: AP Literature & Composition (Blue Tent - Brigid Thompson- we LOVE Blue Tent!) Math: Pre-Calculus (Mr. D Math - also love) AP US History (FLVS, I think) DE Biology w/Lab or Biology Honors (Blue Tent) or AP Environmental (FLVS??)
  19. Also might consider the CC for Music Theory. Dd’s schedule is very unpredictable so worry about taking a college class if something comes up. Hopefully we will get some feedback. 😜
  20. Looking for feedback regarding Well Trained Mind Academy's "Intermediate Music Theory" class. Anyone taken it? What is work load? Good class? Also, wondering about The Potter's School (TPS) College Music Theory class? Anyone taken it? What is work load? Good class? Any other Music Theory classes I am missing or ideas or thoughts? Thanks!
