  1. We just tried it for the first time. I didn't feel comfortable buying another gallon because of research laying out the risk to my children. My choice would be fine for me but I didn't want to put my children at an increased risk. I didn't read of any superlative benefits that convinced me otherwise.
  2. 34. I feel I can see a lot in eyes.
  3. I was born in west palm but I currently live about 30 minutes north where it is more rural and family-friendly. I would recommend living north for a multitude of reasons. Any questions just PM me.
  4. I have had the same experience in my state. First i tried the teachers. I asked over the summer for next years books and they wouldn't tell me. I even asked our asst principal. I finally reached the person in our district who told me not to buy the public school books since they were not as good as the books I could buy in bookstores. The next year I decided to homeschool. Good luck.
  5. I tried one brand for well water and I didn't notice a difference. I do think my curly hair is very different because of our hard water. I love taking showers at the gym with city water - it is so much shinier and softer. My female neighbors do the same thing for rare date nights when we want our hair to be nice.
  6. I have the free trial of olly and I really like it. fWIW, I have tried well planned day (digital and hard copy) and scholaric. This might work for me! Olly homeschool. They say an app is in the works.
  7. So ironic...This was an issue in my house today. I made ds keep the door open. That solved it...
  8. Hello, had a great Spring Break and got some reading done from the WEM book list. I finished If on a Winters Night a Traveler and the Song of Solomon. I am now reading Possession by Byatt. Read this year: 16. Red Badge of Courage 17. Heart of Darkness 18. The House of Mirth 19. The Great Gatsby 20. Mrs. Dolloway 21. The Trial 22. Native Son 23. The Stanger 24. 1984 25. Invisible Man 26. Seize the Day 27. One Hundred Years of Solitude 28. If on a Winters Night a Traveler 29. Song of Solomon 30. ....
  9. Okay, so I finished "One Hundred Years of Solitude." Anyone else up to discussing this one? Currently reading: Song of Solomon 2013 reads in order from Well-Educated MInd: . . . 16. Red Badge of Courage 17. Heart of Darkness 18. The House of Mirth 19. The Great Gatsby 20. Mrs. Dalloway 21. The Trial 22. Native Son 23. The Stranger 24. 1984 25. Invisible Man 26. Seize the Day 27. One Hundred Years of Solitude
  10. The Trial: I couldn't stand how complacent he was about his trial. It seemed so impossible. I also hated the scenery. Dark and dirty. I watched the Masterpiece Classic of Anna Karenina from 2001 (on Amazon) but I have not seen the new one. It is in my Netflix queue. I just hated the way she was with her children. It repulsed me from enjoying anything else about her.
  11. I am a reformed "fluff" reader encouraged by Well-Educated Mind. I would never have picked these up to read and I have enjoyed parts and hated parts of most of them. With fluffy books I can relate to and respect some of the characters but I have had a hard time finding common ground in any of these books. I have had to retrain my expectations. They have made me think about human nature and yearn for a book with a happy ending. I don't think any of these so far has been "cheerful" or "uplifting." The most difficult for me were: Don Quixote, Gulliver's Travels, and The Trial. Books I would recommend: Jane Eyre, The Scarlet Letter, Anna Karenina, Mrs. Dalloway. In Progress: One Hundred Years of Solitude 2013 reads in order from Well-Educated MInd: . . . 16. Red Badge of Courage 17. Heart of Darkness 18. The House of Mirth 19. The Great Gatsby 20. Mrs. Dalloway 21. The Trial 22. Native Son 23. The Stranger 24. 1984 25. Invisible Man 26. Seize the Day
  12. Hello, I am new to this topic but have been following with admiration. I have been working on the Well-Educated Mind booklist. I couldn't enlist a reading buddy so I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I justed started "One Hundred Years of Solitude." Read this year: 16. Red Badge of Courage 17. Heart of Darkness 18. The House of Mirth 19. The Great Gatsby 20. Mrs. Dolloway 21. The Trial 22. Native Son 23. The Stanger 24. 1984 25. Invisible Man 26. Seize the Day
  13. This was perfect timing for me! I had one day left in our trial and was about to spend $51.75. Thank you!
  14. We are getting Home Art Studio for Christmas. Can't wait.
  15. I feel your frustration. After many visits to different doctors I am now on Armour. I did not like Synthroid. The library has lots of great books if you want to read more about it. Good Luck!
  16. Hello, I sent you a PM. I am interested in the book too. Thank you.
