Conversation overheard: wicked computer gaming children
kaylk in tx replied to Laura Corin's topic in The Chat Board
Mine do this both on computer and through Xbox... I'm always hearing disembodied voices coming through the gameroom speakers and realize it's one of their online friends. -
But wouldn't giant beyonce try to eat giant jiminy?

Vyvance for ADHD or ADA?? (not sure which)
kaylk in tx replied to Remudamom's topic in The Chat Board
My just turned 11yo son has been on vyvanse since he was 8yo. He was not losing weight, simply not gaining. We added 2mg intuniv at night and have lowered his vyvanse dosage from 40 to 20 mg. It's actually working better than vyvanse alone. AND he's gained weight (6 lbs in one month), filled out (can't see his ribs anymore) and is growing! -
something we used when i taught ps to help the kids remember... I sing today. I sang yesterday. I have sung many times in the past. every week we'd do a few of those tricky verb forms using the same pattern sentences.

Names and how you spell them...
kaylk in tx replied to kristi26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My name is very easy, only three letters. For 48 years now, my aunt, the sweetest, most generous woman in the world, puts an e on the end. (Kaye instead of Kay) it's just a family joke now, as is the fact that if the birthday cards are on time instead of a week late, it's a miracle. For years I only got belated birthday cards with my name spelled wrong! And my grandmother would spell my brother's name wrong. Brain instead of Brian. But he's a CPA so it turned out to be pretty accurate! In other words, it is totally possible for really nice well-meaning people to spell names incorrectly, over and over and over and over. -

Ragweed has been kicking my butt for the past three weeks, marathon sneezing sessions, sinus headaches, inability to breathe through the nose, you name it. I've been popping Claritin, doing nasal sprays, taking Benadryl, etc. this morning dh informs me he has a little sinus pressure and a tickle in his throat. :glare: If he asks me to make him a dr appt, I may be a widow very soon. -
You can get all three levels of HOE as apple apps, about $4 each. Includes a lesson video and all the exercises from the regular program. (I also have that) doesn't have the verbal problems but maybe those will be coming later.

Speedo vanquisher junior. DS 12 has only just now moved up from these to adult size. Also, be sure they're tight enough. If they aren't hard to pull off, they're probably too loose. He could ask his coach to check the fit. -

the star is simply the opposite of x so if x is a negative number, then it's opposite would be positive. -

But the different goals are based on how the subgroups are already scoring. You want every subgroup to make progress until, hopefully, the differences in passing rates are negligible. If 40% of blacks are passing (totally random #), it doesn't make sense to set their goal at 92%. It will ake more than one year to make up that gap. Also, if Asian students are already at a 90% pass rate (again, random #) it wouldn't make sense to set their goal lower than what they're already at. The intent is to see progress across all subgroups, eventually erasing those gaps. Also, someone else mentioned a school not passing if one out of only three students in a subgroup didn't pass the test. In Texas, which I believe was the state mentioned, there is a cutoff. When I was teaching, it was five. If your school had fewer than five students in a subgroup, that subgroups scores were not broken out for analysis.
