  1. we missed it. rats. Based on where we live, it would have only been a partial and only for a few minutes before sunset... bummer. On the upside, in searching our local observatory website for info I discovered a few up-coming events we will hopefully be able to make. thanks for posting.
  2. So excited to have found this thread -- my kids will love this! Thank you for sharing.
  3. This is an old post, but I found it because I was searching for maps for the Progeny Press guide to Johnny Tremain. Thought I'd post a few links that helped a bit: Fish Street and Hancock's Wharf shown on this map: http://historygallery.com/maps/NorthAmericaMaps/1775Boston.htm Older map 1723, shows a larger area but Hancock's Wharf is not labeled as such: http://maps.bpl.org/id/11122 Also note that "Fish Street" as "Fifh Street" -- the "f" is that colonial "long s". Hope this helps someone else - it was a bother to hunt them down :001_smile:
  4. We listened to the audio over lunch and while coloring/painting the pictures from the activity book. Jim Weiss does a great job reading as always.
  5. Love it! Boys 10 & 7 and 4 yo girl tries, too... Great family game.
  6. Thanks for the reminder...now if the clouds will just move on out... :)
  7. Wow. Not sure i'll be going back next year. Wish there was a better option near Cincinnati. GHC's website says they do not 'filter' their presenters/exhibitors. Not sure I believe that.
  8. My 5th grade son enjoys Winston. He's not a huge fan of the cards and I don't make him use them for every sentence. I like that it is no nonsense and simple. I think he likes that it uses short lessons. : ) HTH...
  9. I appreciate your opinion that swims against the tide of positive reviews. I'm always looking for more opinions when I'm considering a product for our homeschool. Not sure what we will decide yet. Thanks for taking the time to blog about it and to link to your blog here.
  10. I've been trying out Jane Iredale - you can buy it online at beauty.com. Pricey - but nice... and no road kill.
  11. just got a great pair of Clarke's mules at DSW for about that price --- worth a look if you have one near you.
  12. I'm pretty sure ours does... they do not take the big computer monitors, but tvs are ok. However, I agree that you could probably sell it for a little bit on Craig's list.
  13. I'd never seen the chart linked by JudoMom. Very helpful! Thanks!
  14. We buy our SL stuff used - but the day we put stuff on the shelves for the next school year is much anticipated. (Mom keeps things stashed away until then. Otherwise my voracious readers would devour the books as I buy them)... enjoy SL, its really great.
  15. that's good to know - think I may go login and edit my requirements...
  16. just another data point... my 95 percentile babies end up at the 75th and 50th percentiles usually... Everyone seems to grow at their own rate, with their own unique timing for growth spurts, etc.
  17. $3.79 for a half-gallon of organic milk - so, $7.58 a gallon Another store is less $3.19 for a half gallon.... not my usual grocery store but when I'm there I *always* buy milk.
