My hubby is a mechanical engineer. Our son seems to be following in his interests...we focus on everything ( reading, enlgish, Etc) but.... Math and sciences are a must! I let my hubby pick the math program we use, because he is better at all that than I am. We also have Legos, Knex, Mindstorms NXT, Lego designer software, snap circuits, etc. He loves these toys! We visit lots of museums and science center to give him hands on. It helps that I have an engineer in my house, the fostering happens naturally between them. Oh, and computer skills!!!!

Help! How do Sonlight's Previous year's IG manuals differ?

I am looking at doing core 5 (f) and core alt7 (w) this year. The chart above was helpful. Thank you. -
I only used 1 to 3 words. I thought that too, so i tried to search with fewer words. So far I have made no connection to what I am doing wrong. Funny things is ... it works fine in the morning then in the afternoon it starts getting funny. Maybe a coincidence, or maybe it's too busy? Just a thought.

I used a hammer with the meat inside of a plastic bag, but it did kind of tear the meat up a little. I think the rolling pin idea is a good one! I do plan on buying a meat tenderizer mallet though!

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17 bytes) in /www/welltrainedmind/forums/search.php on line 1011 It is driving me nuts!! I don't know why it is doing that. It does not do it all the time, but it does it quite a bit. Any suggestions?:confused::confused1:

I am starting Sonlight new this year too. I also have a 10 year old daughter. I am going to do core 5 (f) with her not because of any reading level, but because I want her to be able to do the Eastern Hemisphere study. It looks to me that this is the only time they would get it. I have most of the books and some of them are easy reads, but some are more challenging. I also considered interest level for her age. Even though she is capable of reading at a high level, I want her to be interested in what we are learning. Good Luck with your choice!

We moved twice in four months on year. It was very hard to keep up. I wouldn't worry about it. It has been two years and we are finally back on track slowly working at it. They will be ok!! Go to the library and get them some learning dvd's ! They have all sorts of them on History, English , Science etc. -

I have heard of people using landscaping fabric and cutting a hole where you plant your plants. -
Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons. It is not expensive, but I would use it again and again!!

Real natural looking makeup at 13. Mostly she just wanted mascara to make it look like she had eyelashes because her hair is so blonde.
