I am on number 4 and 5. She is doing Kindergarten work and he has been demanding to work, as well. I am planning on ditching everything and buying a Sonlight Core for them to do mostly together. My 1st and 2nd child both have special needs and have consumed so much of my time in the years we have been homeschooling.

I am not a fancy person by any means. But, I would like to find a world map for our living room. We have plaster walls so it is going to hang with Washi Tape. It doesn't need to be frame able. Just not crazy colors. Any suggestions? Our few stores do not carry maps.

Anyone using Monarch this year?
Oakblossoms replied to Oakblossoms's topic in High School and Self-Education Board
It is Christian and Web based from Alpha Omega. -
I have a teen on the spectrum who needs some just get it done curriculum. I was going to buy SOS for a few subjects. But, that would limit him to one computer. I was wondering if anyone uses Monarch. If, for example, he finishes English 10, can he move onto English 11? The monthly fee is pretty awesome.

I am using Evernote this year. It seems to work really well with my relaxed, ADD overloaded crazy mind  I was thinking my older three should probably just have their own accounts. Is it pretty easy to share information? Like can I evernote them what I would like them to do and they evernote me back with their results?

Would welcome any ideas for my 19 y/o ds who hates school...
Oakblossoms replied to bzymom's topic in The Chat Board
Give him more time to grow up? I went back to College and then University after having three kids. Does he like to swim? The USCG can be a great career. -
It is suppose to be hours in Montana. I am hoping to just make a note at the end of the month of what lessons started and what lessons ended or how many programs watched etc... I should be able to come up with hours that way. I only have to keep track of my 14 and 11 year olds. The others aren't in the age range.

Getting started today! Anyone else?
Oakblossoms replied to Radish4ever's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We are starting today. We actually took a summer break since my niece came to visit. I have 4 kids homeschooling this year from High School to K. -
My phone is super helpful to keeping me on track. We are just starting back to school. So far, I made a notebook for each kid in Evernote and a note for the month. I just plan to keep track of what books they do, shows watched etc. Plus, if they finished a book. I don't really have to answer to anyone and we are on the unschool side of the spectrum. Just curious :)

If it is like the previous volumes, it is for all grades. -
Anyone planning to use MOH 4 this fall ?
Oakblossoms replied to Another Lynn's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I am considering for our family time. -
The problem is the father/husband. I can't imagine my Dad kicking me out and keeping his new wife and her son in the house. That's a lot of pain no matter who you are. She should report the email to the girls therapist. Then she should ask her husband to leave. She needs out of that family. None of them are healthy.

How old will your son(s) be when he/they graduate?
Oakblossoms replied to Janie Grace's topic in The Chat Board
I am the one who answered 20. Feel free to pm me if you need to discuss that or get a load of your chest. He needs that time. My next son will be on track to graduate at 18 but I am certainly not enforcing that. I wish more children had time to grow prior to University. I get some flack for that. But, I was an adult at a major University. Those were children and they were not ready to be there and deal with all those adult challenges. I had many of them tell me they wish they had been home educated. -
My dh got a laptop from the local CC. The Windows won't update for us because it must be a copy licensed to the CC. Anywhooooo..... I am thinking it would be easier to use Ubuntu or Linux. I like the look of Ubuntu. Any thoughts or suggestions or preferences or......

I moved from Western Washington to Montana. It is so dry here, plus the heat going all the time. My lips were horrible and my feet are cracking. I have always had beautiful feet. I have Rosacea that I keep pretty good control on. If I don't it gets out of hand. I cannot have my cheeks start to crack or I will become a mess. I got a humidifier for the house and that is huge. I am sensitive to smells and fragrance. I get migraines from a lot of things. I like Kiss My Face, Aveeno, Alba, and Neutrogena products. I am using up the last of my Trader Joes Moisturizer. It has a black lid. I have no idea who makes it. Usually I can figure out who makes a product for Trader Joes. You can, also, try almond, sesame or extra virgin olive oil at night. You can even massage it into your dry face, like you are washing your skin. Then rinse lightly with a warm towel. Then apply some more. Just do it enough prior to bedtime so you don't mess up your pillow case. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is so much better than coconut oil on my skin. Coconut oil seems to make me drier and I think that is probably my rosacea.

Okay folks, Jean in Newcastle needs prayers!
Oakblossoms replied to RoughCollie's topic in The Chat Board
Praying. Someone dare say something negative on this thread and they will get a bottle of Mike's upside the head and a cupcake shoved in their mouth. Did your phone survive then? -
If Christmas lights make you happy, then put them somewhere all year long. You can put a wad of them inside of a glass vase or hanging lantern. You can put them in the space above your kitchen cabinets. You can staple them around windows. You can put them out on the porch. I downloaded Homeschool Tracker in November and it is so helpful. So, I think I am going to get some more of their work on that.

Anyone remember how I lived in a native Alaskan village for a year?

What a sad and horrible mess. It is good you were voted off the island. I can't imagine you becoming anything than a victim at some point. -

Oh yeah if I make meatballs or meatloaf, I add a ton of filler stuff. -

Meat never goes on sale here. Isn't that strange? I think it is because raise their own. (We moved here this summer.) I used to buy meat at Costco or when Safeway had the B1G1F. I figure I can add stuff to chili or make taco filling since we eat those two a lot.
