  1. I remember one day telling mil I was glad I was able to meet her need to complain. She was living with us at the time... She proceeded storm around the house ranting that she didn't like being angry. I got a break from her, and a good chuckle out of it.
  2. Ou want a dense viscos with cooling about 3 inches thick. I'd gotten one at costco I loved. Didn't quite work with my new mattress....
  3. a person can disconnect from reality with extreme emotional distress. but His behavior began to change slowly maybe 3 years ago. But a year ago it went into overdrive and the memory loss is mostly things he did during the last year. You're talking over a period of three years showing downhill degradation, with an escalation in the last year. That doesn't sound like something caused by extreme emotional distress.
  4. I could be completely off base, it might be a tumor, but it might also be something degenerative. I hope he's able to get help. He may need to insist on a referral to a neurologist. (that's more a commentary on dealing with doctors. I've had ones that are happy to refer, and some who think they can treat the patient themselves - when they don't know enough.)
  5. Is this recent behavior changes? is he in denial in face of proof? is he embarrassed? has he started a new medication? some, can cause truly bizarre side effects. Is he using drugs? recreational drugs, even booze, can cause personality changes. has he had a recent head injury? - even if it seemed minor, and he didn't seek treatment for a knock to the head if the personality changes are recent and unexplained, a full medical workup could be in order. my friend's daughter had major personality changes (also having headache her dr ignored), and she had a massive tumor. But different parts of the brain are more sensitive to things than others.
  6. anyone can be overtired and need a break. if it was people making you overtired, you can want a break from that.
  7. 11 Signs Of Adrenal Fatigue You Shouldn't Ignore - A Radiantly Healthy Life The Four Stages of Adrenal Fatigue (adrenalfatiguesolution.com) running (and a lot of other forms of exercise) can exacerbate adrenal stress because it stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. yoga -et. al, stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (I may have them backwards) and will reduce your stress level, and can promote healthier cortisol levels. here are a sample of SOME yoga poses that benefit adrenal fatigue. Incidentally - legs up the wall is good for your digestion too. Have you done a cortisol spit test? (MDs tend to only do a blood test - the results of which are worthless. ) You want the *spit* test (you can order it yourself). 4x per day is usually adequate. (when you wake up, noon, late afternoon/before dinner, bedtime. some will do 6x per day.) You want to know what your pattern is. A healthy cortisol pattern is high first thing in the morning and goes down as the day progresses until it is low at bedtime. the more you push yourself without adequate recovery time, the more messed up your pattern is likely to be. do you wake up a lot in the middle of the night? that can be cortisol. Do you do anything to support healthy cortisol levels? constant stress does a number on adrenals by having them pump out so much cortisol, they eventually can't pump out any more because they're "fatigued". there are some great adrenal support supplements (and a lot of overpriced junk), but they're only an addition not in place of doing things to reduce stress. It took me trial and error (and finding out I'm allergic to eugenol - which is a component in holy basil leaf (like lactose is in milk), ,which is in at least half of all adrenal support supplements . . . (eugenol is also in all OTC temporary dental cements. . . .I found out the hard way when I lost a crown and used it, and couldn't breathe.) I can tell if I've had my cortisol supports or not, I can tell if I need more than my regular schedule (and there are times I must take extra). I still have issues, but I'm much more functional than I've been in years.
  8. Never had a wolf. I did see a fox once. And a weasel. A couple neighbors had a bear go through their yards. Not as many coyotes or deer as we used to have, but they are around. I'm in a city. There are areas near here that had an actual cougar... not a bobcat. Used to have hawks - even landed on my deck rail. A pair of eagles moved in a couple years ago, and I haven't seen hawks since.
  9. I haven't seen any bunny pellets in my yard. I've only seen one in months, before.... it was a convention...and the pellets.
  10. I should have looked at fan pages/et. al. before. Here's an entry for Ro Laren. During the course of planning out the fifth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the producers were looking to add a recurring character who could conflict with the regular cast at times, as well as a new conn officer to replace Wesley Crusher. With that in mind, the episode "Ensign Ro" was written by Michael Piller, from a story idea created in conjunction with Rick Berman, to specifically introduce the character of Ensign Ro Laren. The episode was designed to show a backstory for the character, who would be at odds with series creator Gene Roddenberry's ideal that Starfleet officers should all work together seamlessly. . Thank you everyone for your replies. It was Ensign Ro for whom I was looking. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing someone.
  11. Not Shelby (who always came across as temporary. For her to get Riker's job, would mean JF would have to leave.), and it has to be after BOBW.
  12. the sil is pushing 'the trades' on OP's son, while taking her own daughter around to college open houses.
  13. OP, I don't think you're overreacting. Sure he's 12, and doesn't know what he wants to do. I don't know how important her opinion is to him - but it needs to be "not remotely". and I mean, he needs to not give *any credence* to her opinion AT. ALL. my grandmother used to tell me - way too many times - "take lots of typing classes so you can get a job as a secretary and support your husband through college." - it's extremely demotivating, especially when I was already struggling so much. (It would have been *completely* different if it had been "so you can support yourself through college".)
  14. question. Put on your thinking caps. who is a female character introduced midway through the series (must be AFTER "the best of both worlds"), introduced as if she was supposed to be a "new" recurring role/character, but ended up being written out. All I can think of is Ro Laren, but wondering if I've missed anyone - as I really didn't watch it all that much in later seasons.
  15. caught him on video last night. He lives around here . . . Showed up last year, other nieghbors have video, some of us have even seen him. He seems to be doing a very good job on the rabbit population.
  16. You're like the Dr. "you just regenerated" ;p.
  17. I appreciate knowing I'm not alone. I'm feeling much more confident today. I'll get everything set up, or finish while I'm waiting at the airport to board tomorrow morning. . . . Thank you for everyone's information.
  18. most of them would just fill them up on sugar.
  19. years ago, the Sweet 16 was in Seattle. The NY talking heads came to Seattle to do their coverage. They were *whining* about "where will they get their Starbucks?" . . . . shall we tell them? where they think it *came* from??????? (insert fainting emoji)
  20. or she's just plain jealous and is afraid your son will grow up to upstage either her daughter or her son, so she's being manipulative. Narcissistic people (not saying she is) are insecure, sometimes the insecurity is blatantly obvious, and I see someone who is insecure and jealous so she is seeking to undermine your son. does he realize he's putting his own son last? His "family" that he's trying to defend, don't care about his son, or family. So, that's a pretty one-way dynamic to which he is blind. Is he in denial about his family because he's just as twisted? or he has fear of admitting their rejection?
  21. Does your mil stand up for sil's behavor? this is *her grandson* her daughter is sending this stuff too. Start forwarding things back to her, her daughter, and maybe even that dad, grandma, etc. - with the message, your mom thought this was a good idea, thought you'd be interested (the cousin) is actually the age to be taking advantage of those programs. eta: yeah, I see what's going on, and I'm so sorry your husband is supporting his sister, and NOT his own child and wife. Is the SIL jealous of your son?
  22. He is risen indeed.
  23. shipped in: I mean Costco has a truck pick it up at the location that makes it, and takes it to another location to sell it.
  24. There is variation in products. Quality of produce is usually good, but I've encountered questionable even here. (I could buy produce from Costco A, but not B. And Costco C would carry things the others don't. ) 2ds always wants me to go to a specific one because they have an actual sushi chef on site. Other costco's get it shipped in. Maybe. The original location has a car wash.. I wish they'd add one closer. Managers have some discretion on nonadvertised sale prices too. Occasionally you can get fabulous deals.
