  1. I would like to have a whole day/week/month in the international section of Epcot. I may pay special attention to the Moroccan food. :tongue_smilie:
  2. :iagree:This is what got me through the Horribly Steamy Summer of '98, when it was over 100 degrees for weeks and I was very pregnant.
  3. I'm sorry, no. I can't forgive you. You just made my ovaries do backflips and my face turn green with envy! ;) :grouphug: What a dollface. So huggable! So kissable! You are blessed!
  4. I love it. And I love the names of your other kids, too. I think if you love a name, just go for it. Congratulations!
  5. My 3yo dd has a fetish for people's upper arms. She loves to stroke them and squeeze them while she's sucking her thumb. She does this mostly to family members, but she's been branching out a bit to some of my middle dd's friends. She is not shy about telling us she likes stroking our arms because "they're soft and cold."

  7. I know I must have disappointed them in many ways through my life, especially my dad, who was essentially impossible to please, though he definitely loved me. The biggest was that I became a Christian, which he - an atheist - believed was "wasting my time, wasting my intellect, and wasting my life."
  8. I serve in the nursery but that's all I do with kids.
  9. We have a neighbor we call "Dog Man." Every day, several times a day, he takes his dog out for a short jog. They always go at the same pace, cross the street at the same point in the middle, walk down another street just to one exact point (not the end of the block) then turn around and do it in reverse. Just a moment after he disappears down his street (a cul-de-sac perpendicular to ours, which is why we see all of this) he then drives down the street with his dog in the car, goes around the block and comes back. Occasionally the order is reveresed, but it happens at least two or three times a day.
  10. I can't agree strongly enough. Very disappointing. :glare:
  11. My 13yo dd really likes the Olympics ad where the guy is running while listening to The Odyssey and then Moby Dick. She's such a homeschooler! :D
  12. Completely normal. As one poster said, it's a function of the imagination, and sometimes of wishful thinking. Some kids are more prone to it than others (at least in my small family of three kids).
  13. In 1987 I was in China for two weeks on a college choir tour. Many things surprised me, but here are two of them: Many, many, many Chinese people were fascinated with my very curly hair. It seemed no Chinese person was overweight.
  14. That's so funny. I didn't love the whole ceremony but when The Jam song came on I screeched. Absolutely my favorite band all through high school. Finally, someone else who understands.
  15. This, too, shall pass. Sometimes I think it's the temporary panic that keeps me energized. ;) :grouphug:
  16. If you're looking at having her take Latin online, look into Lukeion. They use Wheelock. Even if she had already used Wheelock for a couple of years, she could join a higher level Lukeion class and have the same Wheelock background as many of the students. FWIW, my dd took Latin with Lukeion, where she used the Wheelock book over two years, and it was excellent.
