  1. Can't wait for 70! It's been 90 - 100 here for quite awhile.
  2. When we have "Build your own crepes" for dinner, bacon and nutella is popular with all of us!
  3. Forgive me for being blunt, but I'd drop her like a hot potato.
  4. :iagree:A lot of wisdom here. I'm on my 2nd teen and what the OP describes is totally normal around here.
  5. Maybe this has been said already (haven't read the whole thread) but I think one huge and desirable advantage your kids have is that they're learning how a house is really run. They are also learning how to have limits and how to manage down time. And that down time is important and desirable. And that being involved in outside activities involves deliberate, careful decision-making. I'm on your side.
  6. You won't do it wrong. You'll do it differently. That's the beauty of it, but it may take awhile to get used to. Take deep breaths and dive in! :grouphug:
  7. I am drooling reading all of these low prices! I get ours at Sprouts and it's $9 a half gallon!
  8. If this whole story is true, the saddest part to me is the little girl's comment about the people who did this to her. If there was a weepy "smiley" I'd put one here.
  9. :iagree:Hang in there....this, too, shall pass, but it may be awhile. :grouphug:
  10. Oh, shoot. We're deeply busted on several of these....
  11. Okay, this is about my dad. He used to go bonkers if my brother or I peeled hard boiled eggs in a way he thought was incorrect. He was anal about a lot of things, but that's what comes to mind. He had a whole process and he'd lecture us about it angrily. And we would sit there, innocently peeling our eggs the wrong. ****. Way!!!!
  12. Hmmmm....I only know my own dh's experience, which is a bit different than your dh's, but here it is, FWIW. My dh was in pain on and off for about 10 years (yes, you read that right), and then his disc actually ruptured. So he had emergency surgery, but not until a few days later (long story). His recovery time was about 3 months. I'm not saying this to discourage you, only to tell our story. Since your dh is having his done before the drastic event of having it get so severe that it ruptures, it makes sense to me that his recovery time would be less. A co-worker of dh's who had a similar surgery (without the rupture) was only out of work for about two weeks. I could say more, but I'll stop there. Hang in there!
  13. I don't know if this will help, but my middle DD wants to do missions work and she's planning to study linguistics/ESL in college, as well as learn a few languages (her phraseology) and she wants to get a pilot's license.
  14. But, see, that's the thing. Being a city kid, how would I know that, well, a creek has divisions? Couldn't I plead ignorance? Couldn't you just jump in with me and we could all flap around together? We don't even have a porch for someone to set a telescope up on. But we do often have drivers stare in gape-mouthed awe at our morning glory-covered arbor. I find this totally non-offensive. :D

  16. Oh, golly. I'd probably be just like that. I've lived in the city all my life and we live on about 1/10 of an acre. I've never even seen a creek. If I moved somewhere like where you live, I'd be so ecstatic you'd probably find me in your creek, stark naked and flapping my arms with glee.
  17. Oh, my dh couldn't WAIT until our oldest was old enough for this one. They've watched it countless times. They're the real movie people in te family.
