  1. Oh no! I'm so sorry. I hope your husband and those closest to you can give you more support and love to help you through this fresh pain.
  2. Peeling is only necessary if you want chunky hummus. I puree the beans with skins for 7-10 minutes with garlic and the lemon juice or olive oil. Then add in the techina (lots), salt, lemon juice, and olive oil. Then puree for 3 more minutes. Fluffy, yummy hummus.
  3. Oh golly. This sounds so familiar. My MIL....
  4. I have no good advice but isn't it always that nothing good comes from trying to do good? Sigh.... I hope you get good advice!
  5. With that description it sounds like you have a tight ilias or psoas. Some chiropractors and PTs know how to stretch them so you don't get the pain. I have a Hip Hook to help me.
  6. I've made all of the above. My family isn't so thrilled about them all though. They like lighter fruit desserts. Boo on them a
  7. I was going to come and say Georgian or Bucharian food in Queens as well. So yummy and different tasting!
  8. I'm continuing to pray for you and your family.
  9. Please have them look into this. It's mostly a diagnosis based on blood work and exclusion. It's rare but there is treatment (new drug just came out in the US. I can find out what it is).
  10. No hordes of children. I like kids one on one or in small groups. I hate teaching large groups of children. Because I home educated, the local Jewish schools think I want to teach. No way Jose! Nothing up high please. I'm not totally fearful of heights but why make me age before my time?
  11. My youngest (of four children) is heading to high school in NY this year (unexpected but hopefully a terrific journey) So I am done homeschooling my own and almost to an empty nest as my older two boys are in college and out of the house. My daughter is a high school senior and she is researching colleges now. I might have my youngest's best friend who I have been tutoring for five years. Supposedly he is going to the private school he attends part time. They are getting push back from the school and they (and I) know there is a very large likelyhood that he will learn nothing there (and perhaps worse regress in his academic abilities). So I left the door open to them. I am supposed to become the Executive Director of our community mikvah (ritual immersion pools). I work there already in a lower level position. I have the exact skill set they need for this position. But the board is in absolute disarray and I'm not interested in trying to lead a recalcitrant group of people not interested in transparency and effective leadership. We will see if they listen to me (and one board member/donor). If that all falls through I am considering some classes to get a post baccalaurate with a (crazy) eye to applying to medical school. Or getting my certificate in Chaplaincy. We will see. Blessings and prayers to all those in flux!
  12. It's kind of a riff off of the slogan, "I am my ancestors wildest dreams" https://medium.com/@RachelDecoste/my-ancestors-wildest-dreams-more-than-a-t-shirt-slogan-4da0dbdc293b
  13. Some of these people 🤐 are certainly going to insist on this outside hiking stuff. Not me! The best hike is an inside hike with snacks!
  14. If this is the hike I'm also in. But if the hike could also be inside (but we can look outside through windows) that would make it perfect.
  15. Losing your son is terrible beyond belief. I'm so sorry. I hope you are comforted by the amount of support you felt yesterday. I pray you will be able to draw upon that love during the tough times of your grief.
  16. I don't know that if you feel all kinds of way about this affirmation you're racist. You're certainly cognizant that this sounds awful clunky (it is) and that there's a spelling error (oy vey). Sit with it more and see what comes up for you.
  17. If this is directed towards Black students as I'm guessing it is, the royalty mention is because there is a strain of ideas that Black folk should act like royalty not like common folk. It's kind of an understanding that while we were brought here to be slaves, that's not who we really are. Straighten your crown sister kind of stuff. Same thing for the elders stuff. https://westerngazette.ca/features/special_editions/the-black-king-and-queen-narrative/article_2f5d3b9e-0a05-11e8-b4d3-1347ad094936.html
  18. I'm so sorry. I'm near your time zone so if you want to vent or talk, just message me. In my friend they found lung tumors as well in addition to fever, malaise, all over body pain, ear and head pain, pancreatitis.
  19. It was a crazy time in the hospital for her. She had a fever, swollen joints, ear pain, lung issues. They couldn't put everything together for a week. Please read about this and push the doctors hard.
  20. Oh my goodness! These kind of symptoms are exactly what's happening to my friend right now. https://ancavasculitisnews.com/what-is-anca-vasculitis/#:~:text=Symptoms of ANCA vasculitis&text=Symptoms include the presence of,%2C fatigue%2C and respiratory problems.
  21. The klik knack style sofas don't pull out that far to make the bed. You need to see one in action to see if you have enough room (but not enough to get a pull out mattress sofa bed). Maybe about 2 feet if that much? Of course the back has to fold down also some. See if you can find one to take measurements. ETA: if you have enough room for a full futon to fold down then there is enough room for the klik klack sofa.
  22. I'm in Tokyo so I'm only 30 minutes to 1.5 hours different than her. That's why I suggested Monday. She (or her DH) has time to set up what's needed to get away to the nearest emergency room since the tend to take forever.
  23. I'm sorry your still feel poorly. I think I would arrange things so that you can go to emergency on Monday because you really shouldn't be feeling like this for so long without a proper diagnosis.
