  1. I always read it as I Quit! Sometimes I think to myself that I wish that were an option.
  2. It meandered as old ladies thoughts often do. I am sure the snack and beverages will help get us back on track. :)
  3. (((Melissa))) When I am having a bad week (or month) like this, the first thing I do is getting as much sleep as I can. If that means 9 or 10 hours a day then I would take it if I could get it. Then I work on making sure I am getting plenty of calories (I have a problem with that) and once I have my energy up then I work on getting healthy food into me. Next on the list is getting my house in order because I simply can not function when it is a disaster. My kids are older so I can give them a certain amount of schoolwork that they can do themselves in situations like this. I can always manage reading to and with them and of course answering questions. I just put off the heavy learning until later. And I focus on how will I make it through the next hour. As things get better I look out maybe three of four hours. It will get better hon. And in the mean time you have all of us here for support.
  4. Oh, I'm bringing sangria too. Maybe we can compare receipes. :cheers2:
  5. So I have to trap the little buggers by hand and set them free outside, where my dc will probably feed them and keep them fat and happy until spring. Luckily, this does not happen too often because I also live with four cats who are not so humanely inclined towards the meece. Three are excellent mousers. The fourth is clueless as to how actually catch a mouse but his antics are quite fun to watch. Now should my children actually see a cat trying to pursue a mouse, pandimoniam breaks loose in the house with the children running through the house screaming at the cats to leave the mouse alone while they try to heard the mouse outside to save the poor thing. It looks much like the breakfast scene in Cheaper by the Dozen. Such fun I tell ya.:willy_nilly:
  6. Unfortunately, in my state he will be a throw away vote but the only other person I could possibly consider is Nader and I have not research him enough to know if that is possible yet. I have voted in every election I have been elgible to vote in and this is the worse year yet. I have actually considered sitting this one out.
  7. Oh, you are right. I hadn't even consider that aspect of it. I guess I'll head of to bed for a bit.
  8. I have honestly been busy all night and just sat down here for my nightly reading. I have to be up at 5:00 so providing I could go to sleep, I would only get two and a half hours sleep. I can get a couple hours sleep at 7:00 am so do I just tough it out until then or try to get a short nap now?
  9. I have been hearing the same thing from him for at least two weeks now and he is normally quite sane. I am not exactly sure how he got on this track but he is convinced that the Bilderberg Group is behind it all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderberg_Group This is a link to a wiki article on a conspiracy theory so obviously you need to take for what you think it is worth. I am not personally quoting this as a reliable news source and as you guys already know I really am crazy. I have had a foil hat for years now, ever since the dentist implanted one of them chips in my filling. :biggrinjester: I've always wanted to use this smiley but never really had the need before.
  10. My 6th grader came home the other day and when I asked here how school was going she said fine but when I asked if she had made any friends yet she said no that no one really talks to her. It about broke my heart. At least no one is being overtly mean to her. I did tell her that she was new and that it would take her awhile to get to know people and I am hoping for the best. But secretly I worry.
  11. Unfortunately, it does not help me at all. While Chuck Baldwin sounds like a great guy, I can not support his party. I am not impressed with Barr at all so right not I am looking into Nader but if I can not support him then it looks like for the first time in 20 years, I won't be voting at all. I can not in good conscious vote for the lesser of any evils as the results would still be evil. I am finding this political season to be very discouraging.
  12. I have a few questions and comments if you don't mind. The first was concerning labels. Manic-depressive is an older label that is rarely used anymore. The preferred label is bi-polar. Also, generally bi-polar gets worse as you age without ever really slacking off for especially women heading into menopause. Also I have never heard of a dr. going along with a diagnosed bi-polar patient not taking medicine long term so I am wondering if you are receiving proper medical care in managing this. If what you are doing is working then, of course, I think that is great but I would suggest that both you and your family be hyper vilagent about monitoring your moods and be prepared the deal with the issue should you need med. Lithium Orotate is not strong enough to handle a full blown manic attack.
  13. Look like Lolly was right. No new square for me but more rep for you guys so I'll keep working. I am far from enough rep points to get another square any time in the near future. darn
  14. Well now I am confused and I will have go back and read the directions again.
  15. It's great but it would be even better if my dd lived here and I could babyset everyday. I am going to visit again over fall break in Oct.
  16. :iagree: I should be in bed now and if I am tired tomorrow I blame the board.
  17. So I don't cut myself with the knives. Also that way you can take them out by the handles to put them away without touching the part that goes in peoples mouths.
  18. You can change how many posts you see per page. I see 50 but I don't remember how I changed it.
  19. :iagree: We don't have assigned reading either and all of my kids are readers. We don't have regular read alouds but some of us do read aloud to others. My 16 yr. old is especially good at reading to the youngers and they read to me. I sometimes read to the whole family. I read all seven Harry Potters to the whole family and we were so sad that it ended.
  20. Sounds normal to me. It's the craziness I call life. :tongue_smilie: I have six kids as well and I hate to tell ya, it never gets any better, just different. But someday they will all be gone and I am sure that I won't know what to do with myself.
  21. It so hard to be mad at them when they come up with something like this. :glare:
  22. Ask him what he thinks. How does he feel? Does anything help? Does he notice any difference based on changes in his day or routine? Honestly, it is so much easier when they are older and can verbalize what they are going through. Try talking to him. You may be surprised by his insight and perspective. I wish you and your son the best of luck with this. :)
