  1. My daughters gymnastics school swears by putting duck tape over them. I haven't tried it but figured I'd throw it out! We had hers burned/frozen off as well. She did well with it, but I've had them done and know they can be quite painful!
  2. I know in several states, if the baby is premature that the hospital provides the heavy duty pump for her b/c it helps the baby so much--this is regardless of insurance. Just start asking the nurses, I'll bet they can help her get set up with something quickly!
  3. Just wondering...I was looking through the FLL 3 to start scheduling it today and it seems to have quite a bit of narration and dictation, so do we really need WWE as well? We also are doing IEW's All Things Fun and Fascinating this year. We're on WWE 2 if it matters! I'm not really trying to trim anything, but I also don't want/need overkill, kwim?
  4. I would go to the dr...what if it gets worse or is really a bad staph infection?
  5. Just noticed the number is creeping up! YAY! I hope we make it to the 40% off!
  6. We're still in the air on science...hoping to decide at the SE Expo at the end of July. Anyway, for 3rd grade...do you recommend we do C or E? We are SICK of life science from doing RSO Life this year. Plus in Grades K and 1, he did life science in public school....we need a change of topic for awhile! I like the look of E, would it be to hard for him? He's pretty 'sciencey'!:001_smile:
  7. I JUST got this book in the mail today. It's HUGE! It looks great for all sorts of memory work~
  8. Good Question! :bigear: I only ordered one level, I will get more if we need more for a year!
  9. I actually just bought the Living Memory book last week...can't wait for it to arrive! I did the hard copy...to much to print!
  10. :lurk5: Just want everyone to get the best discount possible! We're ordering!
  11. No way. I won't even go to the local $ theater b/c they have had them. I can't afford the treatment to get rid of them if we bring them home, so I guess it's my own insurance policy. As other posters have said though, you can get them anywhere, so if it's a special trip just go and when you get home isolate everything.
  12. We did a Disney cruise with ours this year and it was GREAT! You can get adjoining rooms (We had them b/c there was other family with us. I think even on other cruise lines...at least RCCL, I know) and keep the doors open. We had a great time and it's the first time I wasn't exhausted after a vacation! There is so much to do, but you're not planning much once it's booked, you just show up and it's taken care of. I would recommend it without a doubt!
  13. We do just the outside with a 'green' pest control. We don't really have a choice b/c we have Argentine ants and carpenter bees....so we'd like to keep our house! we also had a hive of yellow jackets living in our master bathroom wall to the outside. I had them do the inside once with the green pest control as well b/c we had a horrible silverfish problem, but we never had a problem after that and they really just baited the attic and behind the electric plates. Not sure if they have this in your area, but we use Northwest.
  14. Is there someone/someplace that may have already entered the AAS words into Spelling City or do I need to sit and enter each list? Id like for him to be able to practice online and review. Thanks!!
  15. I am. DD is 5 and we're excited to start...whenever the planning is finished...;)! Hopefully I can get started in a week or two!
  16. Anything on prohibition, 'roaring Twenties', the crash in 1929...juvenile appropriate, please. Thanks!!
  17. We always have $200 in 'change'....$50 in 1's, $50 in 5's and $50 in 10's and for the change I get 2-3 rolls of quarters, 2 rolls of dimes, etc. Everyone pays with twenties around here. Get cash from an ATM and then head to customer service at a bank or at the grocery store. I can't imagine they wouldn't help!
  18. Thank you! I will preview it and do it as a read aloud for him.
  19. I am looking for rec from those that have BTDT in SOTW 4. I am disappointed in the AG this year. It seems like a HUGE jump from 3 to me with only outlining and then moving to no review questions either...jmho. It does have some great activities listed, so we'll try those. Anyway, I just started planning for his 3rd grade year and while the content is ok in many of the recommended books (we are history buffs....DH is a historian), the reading levels (5-7 and 6-8, 7 & 8 +) are not. I am in search of a better supplemental reading list that he can read independently...which I will create if no one has one, but if I don't have to reinvent the wheel...:tongue_smilie: Also, another topic, the ordering of the chapters seems a little 'off' to me since it seems to jump around more than previous volumes. I was wondering if I should go with something like History Odyssey, level 1 modern instead to make it more cohesive for him?? All advice is considered! Thanks!:001_smile: P.S. I do have the Lit. list posted a few days ago...thank you, thank you! Looking for non-fiction history books on a 3-4 level...
