  1. Dd turned one last Friday. I have been nursing since day one, she refuses both a bottle & pacfier. I do not have a problem with that, especially at this age. However, she gets up all through the night, some nights more than others, and wants to nurse. I know she isn't nursing for nutrition, she is using ME as a pacifier. I nursed my last dd until she was 2 1/2, and don't want to wean unless there is no other way to get her to sleep through the night, or sleep through more of the night. I am exhausted, and we are TTC because I am 39 and we want to go ahead and have another. I don't want to shortchange this dd, but I cannot fathom being exhausted, pregnant, and possibly tandem nursing. Any ideas? Other than the cry-it-out method? I don't have a problem letting her cry some, and am willing to be exhausted for a couple of weeks while I work on this. Please help! Most of it will fall on my shoulders. Dh rises and goes to work early, and is working long days right now. He will be able to let me rest/nap when he gets home at a reasonable hour if I need/want. She shares a room with her sister, but I can move either of them if needed. My ds's room is empty and older dd could sleep in ds's bed temporarily so we would not have to move the crib. Any advice/suggestions are welcome. Thanks HIVE!
  2. I am interested in Couch to 5K, but mine are littles & now I have three under four due to babysitting. Is it possible to do it with all of them? No time for dh to help, his work schedule is crazy. I have a double jogger...wonder if I can fit all three?:001_huh:
  3. They will have more....keep looking! I subscribed a few weeks ago with a special, then extended 2 weeks later to get a free tote bag. They offer great deals quite a bit!
  4. We combined LLATL with DG & EG for my ds from 7th up. He liked it and while it does not change a lot, the drill, drill, & repeat served him well.
  5. I had a similar problem with both dd's. I would immediately pull the child away and put my shirt down, and say, "NO BITING!" It only took 2-3 times for each of them to learn not to do that, or no more nursing! I am sure you will get lots of good advice here. :)
  6. I just had my first cycle since the birth of my dd last November. I decided to buy an OPK so we can see where we are. This is the first time I have ever used one. I chose ANSWER because they have the most strips for the least amount of $$. Between dd's, my cycle was a regular 32 days....like clockwork! I started this kit a few days after the end of the cycle. The instructions say that the test line has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. However, for the past two days, the line has been more faint. This morning, it was not there at all. So did I miss the window? If I am understanding this correctly, the line indicates LH surge, which means ovulation should be in the next 24-36 hours. I am just wondering if this brand is not as accurate as others, or if because the line showed up, even though it was not the "right" color was still indicating ovulation. Any helpful hints or advice would be great! We don't have to hit it this month, but I don't want to waste $$ on another kit if a different brand would be better.
  7. I didn't get the email either, just happened to see it here. Someone else provided an expiration date, I used it this morning!
  8. Just bought dd's Christmas...Bitty Twins! She is going to be so happy and I stayed within our budget with the free shipping, YAY! Happy holdiays all! I know it's early, but I am in the holiday spirit already. Off to grocery shop!
  9. OMG! I just visited that site! I don't want a boy THAT BAD! I am going to try a few things I have learned, but not going to join a forum, do diets, supplements and all that. If God wants us to have another girl anyway, then dh will be surrounded by estrogen, lol! We would *like* a boy, but if we get a girl, then we get a girl! :D
  10. Bumping this to see if the OP was successful. We are about to start TTC as well. I am 39, 40 in April, still nursing.
  11. My car has a center lap/shoulder belt, but I don't want to put the 4yo (mine) in the middle in only a belt. My 4yo is tall for her age, and we just spent a chunk of change on the Britax Frontier 85 so we had a 5-point harness that was big enough for her. (We did not feel comfortable with her in a booster). It is the only carseat with a 5-point harness that she can fit into. She outgrew the top slots in her Sunshine Kids Radian80. The 3yo does not really have a "usual seat." His mom provided the backed booster and I just began caring for him this week. It's the seat part of the booster that covers the latch, so using it as suggested will not work. I cannot latch it at all. However, that seatbelt extender idea may work. Now I am concerned about the use of a booster after reading Mom2's post about boosters and I haven't even visited the websites she suggested. I will be doing that, though! Personally, I prefer a 5-point harness as long as they can fit into it. He is a lot smaller than my 4yo, though my dd's bday is March (she is a little over 4.5) and his is July (he is a little over 2). He is also much lighter than she is and I definitely would not feel comfortable with him in only the lap/shoulder combo, even though he may fit. I will be checking out the other carseats posted. I definitely want a carseat as opposed to the harness suggested, though that may come in handy on other occasions. Thanks ladies, you rock!
  12. Will let you know when I figure it out! :D BTW, we have lost babies as well...
  13. She is more than willing to get what we need. We agreed (I see my terminology indicated that I am buying) that I would find one to fit the car. During the week I only go out two days, so we both thought it would be better if I can find a seat since it is going in my car, then she would make the purchase or reimburse me. :001_smile:
  14. for a three-year-old. I have recently begun caring for a little boy and am trying to fit three carseats into my car. I have a Britax Marathon and Britax Frontier 85 for my dd's. I need to try to fit this little guy in the middle of them. I have a Volvo wagon. His mom provided me with a full-back booster which fits, but it also covers the seatbelt buckle. I need a carseat with a harness that will fit so I can buckle/latch it, and still buckle him into the seat. I do know that Sunshine Kids makes a very narrow carseat, but they are difficult to locate used and I don't want to drop a load of cash on a seat that will not be used a lot. Any other suggestions for a narrow seat with a harness? Thanks!
  15. These are great and some make me feel like I failed! :crying: I will borrow the ones I need and send them one each day to ds. I know some things I covered and overall he is a great kid, I get told that all the time. I just feel like I missed the boat sometimes. By the way, my dh was 19 when we married (I was 28). He enlisted at age 22 and came out of boot camp a different person, for the better. They will teach him a lot more than just how to do push-ups. Just one example, he will have to be financially responsible or it will affect his job. Blessings to you and yours as you send your boy to become a man. The sense of pride you will feel at graduation is astounding! :gnorsi::patriot:
  16. Dh has a Droid and it does this! My Palm Centro (which I love) is quickly losing favor with me because of the lack of apps. I love it because I have had a Palm PDA since high school and love that it keeps me organized!
  17. Thanks for this link, it is fabulous! My dd loves math and we are working on three different programs. I let her go at her own pace and do as many pages as she wants in a day. This is very helpful for "extra" work for her. She loves workbook pages, much like her brother did. Thanks again!
  18. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: So sorry, don't know how you feel, and will pray!
