Moms with lots of kids and laundry...HELP!!!!
Maddysmom26 replied to simka2's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We are a 2 person family.. myself and my 9 yr old.. and wow the laundry is crazy! I think we just have way to many clothes! This is what happens for us being thrift store addicts ;) But I have a resale shop, so Im constantly rotating clothes out to the store.. I still do not have an answer to this.. just to let you know your not alone.. even small familys have this problem! lol Not to mention my picky daughter digs through the clothes , changes several times a day and Before I know it the floor is covered and Im finding clean folded clothes in the dirty laundry baskets. :001_huh: -
Isnt this sort of what K12 is?? That is how I first heard about any kind of home schooling. I met a woman in florida at the beach who told me that was what they use. ITs free through the PS districts (in some states) But they also have private academys which are costly. Although not all states go along with this. NY has no part of these. I was so surprised by the amount of options for schooling at home when I first did a google search. Options are a good thing! ;)

Suggestions For Quitting Diet Soda
Maddysmom26 replied to eight_gregorys's topic in General Education Discussion Board
:iagree: With the weaning.. I did this with coffee.. I went from one to 2 cups.. and then if i missed a day .. wow headaches .. so I started drinking one regular then a cup of decaf.. now I still drink a cup but I usually just have one or do half decaf and half reg. Definately have to wean to prevent headaches.. I stopped the soda too.. I rarely drink soda, its reallly sooo bad for you. I drink ice tea or snapple teas.. and lots of water! :D * Not that this was an issue for me,, but also people would be shocked at the weight loss they would experience just by cutting out soda! -

Maddysmom26 replied to Maddysmom26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Im going to try and connect it to my mothers HP computer and see if it works. I think its a Dell to Dell tech problem. The copy part works fine and if it works for her computer then Ill pass it on to her and get myself a new one .;) -

Maddysmom26 replied to Maddysmom26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I cant even deal with calling their customer service anymore.. its like at least a few hours everytime and no english speaking reps. Erggg more frustration. They said I would have to go to the other support people (when warranty is up) and then it costs who knows how much.. Ill have to check out printer.com Thank you much! :001_smile: -
Dell .. UGHHHHHHHHh
Maddysmom26 replied to Maddysmom26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Thanks.. this is such a pain.. in the beginning when i had all the vista problems and switched to windows 7.. then the drivers for the printer messed up the laptop and vice versa.. ended up with a new laptop.. and the printer was still not working right with the laptop, then they reinstalled the dell printer drivers and it worked for a while .. now it keeps printing half a page and stopping. Its just really time wasting frustration! errggg.. I guess Im definately going to have get anothr..Unless I can figure out how to fix this myself. Was hoping it would last longer then a year. :001_huh: Thanks for the info! :001_smile: -
Oh boy more Dell problems.. How frustrating. Now more printer trouble not even a year old. replacement laptops, numerous frustrating hours upon hours on phone and chat for customer support. Ive had it! :glare: My printer prints half a page then stops.,. for awhile all i had to do was restart my computer and it would then shoot the print out.. but now its not doing that.. Uggg... I strongly dislike dell  & now the warranty is up so id have to pay for them to trouble shoot.. No way! grrr:smash: Just sayin....

Homeschooling-when is it time to quit?
Maddysmom26 replied to coffeefreak's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Im starting home schooling because I live in a district where the school is not great at all , she would be going into middle school, I feel I can offer her more then what shes getting there & then some ...;) I would be willing to send her back to school when Im done with college and I can get a decent enough FT job /career in an area where there is a really "great" PS or Private School of some sort that she could attend. :) -
Wow, this is a funny thread.. LOL I cant imagine shaving my labs! I wonder how silly they would look ?? ALthough I wouldnt mind a little less hair!!! It wasnt as bad with one yellow lab, but with the yellow and black.. LOL It looks like salt an pepper hair balls everywhere! They really shed a lot! it really depends on the kind of dog you get and how ffussy you are! ;) I cant imagine having a dog with carpet tho.. UGGhh.. That would be gross! hardwood floors much easier to clean and vacume! :D

Anyone have experience with weight loss surgery?
Maddysmom26 replied to KIN's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I think its really risky and not worth it. From the people that I know that have had it done, one had it and it did nothing, she actually gained more weight. another just recently had it, she lost a lot of weight but she cant eat anything! most foods make her sick now. I remember speaking to a man who does research in switzerland and they can not believe that in America they do this surgery. really bad. Im sure there are some people whom it worked for but really would you want to take the chance? Definately do A LOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE!! -
homeschooling and working
Maddysmom26 replied to RamonaQ's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I plan on Home schooling in September . My daughter will be going in 5th grade. Im a single parent and I go to college online and have my own business. my store is open 10-5 during the week and sat 10-3 Im closed on Wed and Sun. I also have shorter hours in the late fall early winter and close for a few months in the winter. I plan on homeschooling in the mornings before work the major subjects. Then she will have independant work she can either come to the store with me and do work there or she go to my mothers and do it there. I also plan on doing some schooling after work like maybe art or music stuff. I also do online work to make extra money. being i have my own business our life is a bit more flexible at this point especially being the busy season for my business is mainly a spring through late fall. So i plan on just fitting HS'ing in with the rest of our schedule. If you work 20 hrs aweek and you hav a husband I dont see why you couldnt make it work for you. Ive discovered through these boards that it can be so flexible, especially if your not a "schedule freak" ;) -
I buy Gap shirts from the tall dept online because the tshirts fit so nice.. I hate when they are too short and dont cover the top of my pants, I usually get them on clearance. I dont wear their jeans but they do have them in tall. I wear seven for all mankind and joes jeans because I have really long legs and tehy are the only ones that seem to fit me right. However they are really expensive.. ebay is good to find them at a good $

Decisions ...Decisions..
Maddysmom26 replied to Maddysmom26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
No I went to a 4 yr school years ago (14) and never finished. I had about a year and 1/2 in soo 3 semesters of credits. I will be getting my associates this fall on top of those credits. I returned to community college because it was much cheaper and the classes were online.. my first reason was to get my Teachers assistant certificate just to have it.. and I did that so I stayed there to finish my associates. -
Decisions ...Decisions..
Maddysmom26 replied to Maddysmom26's topic in General Education Discussion Board
The idea was to hopefully get a degree and move someplace where she could go to a better school. The home schooling decision was many reasons but Im just going into it thinking that we will see how it goes but she will not return to the districct we are in now. I refuse to let that happen. Id like for her to get a HS Diploma.. Not exactly sure how that works iwth homeschooling. But in the meantime I will be starting her HSing n the fall and finish my degree online in the fall. She definately comes first. so if I have to wait a little bit to go back then I will. I may take the option of getting an Online bachelors in Psychology. I might have enough art classes already that after the bachelors in psych... I could then go on to seek a art therapy degree. If thats the case it would be easier. Just means skipping the Art Ed degree at least for now.. At this point I really do enjoy the pyschology so maybe I should go that route it would be more $$ then teaching. Just weighing my options.;) -
