  1. Me too! I thought I was doing something wrong. 95% of my searches yield posts from 2016 and older. It's so frustrating.
  2. My iPhone 6 has a broken rear camera. I was run over multiple times a couple of years ago (after a trip to Disney World coincidentally), and I never got it replaced.
  3. We will be going to Florida with the kids at some point this fall. I'm looking for a camera that is small enough to carry comfortably, unlike the DSLR I've been taking for the past five years. It also needs to take great pictures during the day and decent pictures at night. I'm willing to pay up to about $500-$600, but I can spend more if it makes sense. There are so many cameras to choose from! We've had a Canon Rebel Ti in the past that I didn't care much for and a Fugi finepix s1000 that suddenly stopped working after only two years. I respect the vast knowledge of the hive. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  4. For recipes with borax, please be aware that too much exposure can be toxic. A child of a friend on Facebook landed in the hospital with borax poisoning after making multiple batches of slime.
  5. Things are changing in that regard. Boys and men are becoming more self conscious. There is a lot of pressure to be thin and muscular, have a full head of hair, yet be hairless in the right places, such as chest and back. There has been an increase in grooming products and services for men as well.
  6. If I were on an island by myself after having lived in a society up to this point, I could see myself still wearing makeup occasionally as long as I had something reflective to see myself, lol. If, however, I was born alone on an island and had never had contact with people, I would think that it would probably never occur to me to wear makeup. I don't necessarily think that if a person is wearing makeup to feel pretty, it has to mean they are projecting onto any ideas that others in society may have. I'm not sure I understood what you meant by projecting.
  7. This summer I hit a point where I could care less what anyone thought about me for having hairy legs or armpits. I shave when I want to, and I'm not going to change what I normally wear because I didn't shave. It is so freeing.
  8. I rarely wear makeup. My husband prefers no makeup, and I'm a lazy girl. When I do wear it, it's 100% about me feeling girly and pretty. I think I look pretty without makeup too, it's just a different type of pretty with the makeup.
  9. Thank you for explaining how you were able to adapt the system to your own space. I guess because I'm quite the perfectionist, it was all or nothing for me. So if I was unable to get to one of the living areas, I'd feel like a failure. And reading about how people were getting their whole houses clean in one hour during the home blessing hour was discouraging, because it was impossible. I'd need three hours minimum. Oh well, I'm in anyway. I'd like to learn to adapt like you did.
  10. Has anyone with a large home had success with flylady? I had a hard time keeping up with it because of how much there was to clean compared to when we had a smaller home.
  11. We have beach toys stored in a bin in the garage. When we went to the beach recently, I had to throw away several shovels and pails that had broken either from normal use or from the plastics becoming brittle. We plan on taking one more trip to the beach soon, and I'd like to buy a few pieces to replace what I had to toss. I prefer to buy sturdier plastic that will last longer. Is there such a thing?
  12. ETA: I just realized I posted on the wrong board. I'm leaving this here just in case someone who doesn't frequent the chat board has a recommendation. 13. Speaking of Snapchat, I read somewhere that they have an app for kids so that they can take pictures using their filters, but there is no option to send or receive pictures. I believe they can only save them to their device.
  14. 99% of my transactions involve me representing my husband on investment property sales and purchases. The other 1% I take on clients very selectively for the same reasons you mentioned above. Right now I'm doing a favor for my husband by helping one of his business contacts find a commercial property for lease. I'm not enjoying it at all, because it's out of my area of expertise (and yes, the client knows this and doesn't care), so I'm learning as I go through the process.
  15. My cousin learned Spanish from watching novelas on telemundo. It took about a year for her to become fluent. The funny thing is she picked up idioms and other language specific stuff too.
  16. I know there are cities where doctors only take so many new patients with Medicaid, so one would have to get on the waiting list for when the doctor is accepting new Medicaid patients. Until then, patients have use the county clinic for any medical needs. ETA: this happens to be in Texas. Either way, there is access to medical care using Medicaid, just not many options in some cities.
  17. Can you explain how this would be helpful? I know the money can be used tax free toward medical expenses. Is there any other advantage?
  18. It never fails. EVERY year around July/August this topic comes up. I've come to the conclusion that these things are said in the same spirit that one talks about how awful the heat is in July, or about the miserable cold in February. It's just something to talk about, and not meant seriously.
  19. My aunt told me not to eat bananas before bed because of something to do with cramps. I have no idea what she was talking about.
  20. DH bought me this, thinking it could help with organizing my homeschool supplies. I'm so uninspired right now. Do you think this would be best suited for storage of supplies? Can you think of any other uses? I need to get my homeschool area organized soon. We'll be starting school soon.
