  1. my dh is 5' 3.5" hasn't had any problems, he's not Asian, just your average American melting pot. Dd is short for her age as well, so far anyways. I am 5' 3" so I just don't think she is going to be all that tall.
  2. Would a 1.5 to 2 year old have fun? We want to take dd before we move out of Georgia, cheaper for us because we don't need to buy plane tickets and the website says under 3 is free.
  3. have you thought about having her ears checked? my brother had dizziness and some other problems and come to find out he has a huge build up of earwax, cleared out the wax and with in a day he was doing a lot better
  4. Man, I wish I had people like you all that lived close to me. I am looking for all kinds of preschool, home school how-to books and read aloud books.
  5. well it does help clear up infections, but don't take too much because it turns the skin blue
  6. The tattoos are better than actual black and blue marks and other forms of abuse. Don't see what the big deal is either, it could have been a whole lot worse.
  7. The owners have come back and so far has been taking care of the horse, but we have some money set aside now for hay and other feed in case it happens again, now we just don't trust them, we also have a small bag of dog food for Lana. We decided with the landlord that if they get evicted or just leave the horse again that we would take care of Sugar with his help, he wants us to build a shelter for her and he's going to reimburse us for the cost of the materials. We are also waiting the arrival of a horse care book.
  8. ok I see all of these math programs and still researching for 1 yo dd, yes early but I want it all planned out before she reaches school age, anyways what is the best math program for math deficient parents?
  9. haven't had a land line for 5 years, called 911 once, there is a thing on your phone for E911 location so they can get the location based on the towers the signal bounces off of.
  10. about 115.00 a month for 2 phones that share 1400 minutes through Verizon we also have 250 texts each a month. We don't have a home phone, haven't had one in 5 years. Right now it is cheaper to have the cell phones because we move quite a bit and make a lot of long distance calls to family.
  11. just out of curiosity what did they use slaughtered horses for? I think they used make glue out of the hooves but other wise I just don't know. Dh, before we started taking care of Sugar thought all horses were good for was labor and food. Can you even eat horse? Yes I am completely clueless about horses, I did ride one once and had a few buggy rides but that's it.
  12. I called the local animal shelter, they are unable to help with anything. They don't have space for a horse and they don't have any funds to spare to help with feed. We seen someone at their house yesterday but they didn't even seem to care about the dog or horse and dog is right out their back door. I can't seem to find any rescue groups online that might help with just feed, we are willing to foster the horse until a better home is found, we just need help with the food and we also want to build the poor thing a shelter to get out of the wind and rain. I just hope these people come to their senses and decided to either properly care for the horse or sell/give the horse to some one who will.
  13. grass isn't growing right now, it's all brown. We are just not financially able to care for the horse as she should be cared for but we see it as at least giving her the little care we can afford is better than none at all. We have tried to talk to owners but they won't answer their door, phone or e-mail/facebook. We don't know any one who would be able to help us, we have someone down the road that has horses be they are really grumpy and won't be of any help, our landlord is seeing what he can do to help us because he doesn't want the animals to suffer either.
  14. Dh and I are taking care of a horse right now and have no idea what we are doing, the horse is not ours, it's our neighbors' who have pretty much abandoned the horse and dog. We can't legally do anything about it right now because it only has been a few days and our landlord has not evicted them yet and we are hoping that they come to their senses and start taking care of them. Anyways what can we do for the horse, her name is Sugar, she doesn't have a shelter (we live in South Georgia) we were told she doesn't need one. What do we feed her? Right now she is eating the grass out there and we have been giving her a pound of carrots once or twice a day but we know that isn't enough. The dog is easy enough, her name is Lana, we just give her dog food and make sure she has water and dh plays with her a little bit when he goes over to feed her. We know that isn't our responsibility to care for these animals but we can't just leave them to suffer either.
  15. In the next ten years I want to - home school dd - get my pharmacy tech degree, hopefully the end of this year - be financially stable enough to move back to Michigan and purchase a home there - quit smoking... be healthier
  16. my 3 pet peeves are 1) people who drive huge SUVs/ gas hogs, and will only put like $3.00 of gas in at a time and yet by the end of the night they have put in 15.00 worth in but had to make 5 trips to the station to get it, and drive all around town doing absolutely nothing but wasting gas and blasting their systems 2) people who have their hair and nails done every week and yet put ads in the local shopper begging people for free things for their children because they are unemployed or have some sort of medical problem 3) people who are begging for free things and yet when offered a job, they will refuse it because it's not what they want.
  17. It's the tamiflu, had last dose yesterday morning, called doctor, and gave dd benadryl. Gave her amoxicillin last night, she woke up this morning with the hives gone from her face. She hasn't had any new hives out breaks so all looks good for her. Now dh has the flu and thinks he's dieing.
  18. in the last ten years I have - Graduated high school - met dh - great grandmother died (was last grandparent) - attended college, did not graduate - married dh - lost my dad to a massive heart attack - moved to Georgia from Michigan - started to attend school again - Gave birth to dd - had to quit school, for now starting back in March, had to quit July of 2009 due to classes being messed up. - moved a bunch of times in Michigan and Georgia - have owned Lord knows how many cars, current car we have had for 4 years and still going. Have had lots of others before and during. - have been mistress of one cat for 6 years and have owned 3 dogs. - -
  19. I read the ingredients of tamiflu online, and turns out there is a chemical in there that I am also allergic to. She is also on amoxicillin for an ear infection but neither dh or I are allergic to that. So I just assume she is allergic to the same chemical I am in the tamiflu
  20. my dd appears to be allergic to tamiflu, she has broken out into hives. Has anyone else had this happen?
  21. where are these dirty jobs at??? my dh works at a dirty job right now but is looking at being unemployed by the end of next year if things don't change, well greasy not so much dirty.
