  1. It was insane. And I know several people who waived inspections and lived to regret that in a big way if they lived in states where the seller does not have to disclose health/life threatening defects.
  2. Everyone's tastes buds are still dulled except the little boys. But I did get healthy food in folks. Breakfast: Oatmeal with berries, plant based sausage, scrambled eggs Lunch: Chilli with cheddar cheese, baked potatoes, mango and mandarins on the side Dinner: Taco salad, shredded greens, green onion, red pepper, dried cherry tomatoes, pinto and black beans, salsa, ranch dressing, crunched corn chips on top. This was apparently something we adults could eat so we did a deep dive into the big bowl. The little boys and grilled cheese sandwiches, carrot sticks, little bit of broccoli, blueberries, and bananas. Later they asked for applesauce which I obliged, and then a few more blueberries before bed time.
  3. I have to say I have cautioned our kids to never buy a flip house. It is pretty much a get rich quick scheme, and a ton of them are disasters...totally, crappy work. We said if they wanted to find a house with good bones, but needing a top to bottom re-do, we would help them do the work. But don't buy one that was recently sold, rapidly "updated", and put right back on the market. Cruddy workmanship, cheapo materials.
  4. CNN says it had been shot down and will come down in US territorial waters. But the question is, did the Air Force do it or did they hire Florida Man? I am going to be very sad if Florida Man had nothing to do with it!
  5. Bring the popcorn!!!! 🍿🍿🍿🍕🍕🍕🍹🍹🍹
  6. Pictures or it didn't happen! 😂😂😂
  7. Exactly my thoughts as well! I half expect DeSantis himself to go out there with a handgun somehow thinking he can shoot it down himself. The ultimate Florida Man story.
  8. The tech is available to snatch it. We have that. My guess is they are trying to figure out if they want to capture it and piss off Beijing or let it go.
  9. Well I think it is going to be really bad PR for the DoD if this thing ends with, "Today, Florida Man....." They really need to have a better plan than that.
  10. I did not. I did however have, "China, concerned about Putin's crazy going out of control, gifts him a large container of radioisotope sweet and sour chicken with fried rice". Any chance the balloon is a delivery drone wildly off course? 😁
  11. I am one step away from screaming, "Get off my lawn!" 😂😂😂
  12. 😂😂😂😂😂 I have this vague memory of my 21st birthday morning coffee being extra nice. Could it be that my 25 year old husband spiked it???? Oh boy, I think I have a new topic of conversation for him! 😁
  13. That's why I thought it might be something they dreamed up to do for TLC in case they wanted something to film. I have a feeling there were a lot of those moments. Quick think of something. We don't have anything to film today! And then later, TLC decided what to air and what not to. I also agree, by Duggar standards of tater tots with cream of something soup on a regular basis for dinner, Red Robin probably seemed like a big deal to JimBob.
  14. Listen to Rosie. It is normal, and yet often times related to neglecting our own nutrition while going through such a time, or stress depleting us of certain ones even if we are eating well. So do what Rosie, the Wise, has ordered.
  15. April birthdays are not fun times for college students. Though I had graduated with my BA at 20, I was doing some grad school classes and remember spending my 21st studying for an exam while dh was writing computer code for work. I think he brought me a chocolate covered donut with my coffee.
  16. I will try to remember to let you know. The trip is in May so it is going to be a while. Even thought the teams do not know if they are scoring well enough to be invited to Finals or not, due to 8th grade D.C. field.trips, and the 200 NAR volunteers and their families making reservations now, I think we might have ended up renting a stall a horse barn if we had waited! 😂
  17. I had been told something to do but it wasn't shake the cup. I forgot what it was. It was something common to Coptic Christian hosts. Been a few years. I was separated from our friends, Doctors without Borders, because these hosts spoke English and we had no need of a translator. It wad NOT a good tip to forget! 😂 Live and learn! My most embarassing moment with coffee was in France though. In Liseux. Went into the coffee shop, started my order in my horrific American French which must be the equivalent of Appalachian English to Londoners or something, their faces lit up, and I heard, "American!" shouted loudly, and immediately they made me the perfect "cafe au lait" which I am pretty sure is code for, "Tourist who can't hold their caffeine tries to look normal" or "Virgin Java for the wimp" or something. My sister was just busting a gut, and my brother in law who drinks coffee that can a only be described as black paste slightly moistened, laughed until he just about cried. Sigh.....so much for being cool. 😎
  18. Yesterday: Waffles and fruit Leftover spaghetti, carrots, my bugs on a bridge celery which seems to be a big hit, lots more fruit Graham cracker snack Grilled cheeses, mango, black beans (they asked, I provided, and they didn't care about having anything on them), a few green beans, and some strawberries. For me? Not a lot of appetite yet. My food for the day was a baked potato with some spaghetti sauce on top. Today I am having some luck with salmon, rice, Brussels sprouts, and mango for them and have enough to do it again for supper which they do not mind. Cooking the salmon was a smell that nearly put me over the edge. So I am making due with a baked potato and black beans and salsa.
  19. It used to be that in IBLP they preached that the old way of doing things "21 was the age of majority" was correct, and so families treated their kids like minors until that age. 21, especially for girls, became the default of adulthood. But it wasn't any kind of hard and fast rule, and marrying them off sooner than that was typical. My guess is someone on the film crew said, "Hey what you guys doing for her 21st?" And then they thought, "Maybe we have to come up with a plan in case TLC wants to film" and that is how it went. But who knows!
  20. Can confirm, says the woman whose first hospitality event in Egypt ended with hands shaking and massive insomnia after assuming that my American, caffeine addicted self could not be "over coffee limit" so soon. Oh my very naive self!!!! 😂😂😂
  21. We were able to get something on vrbo on our budget. It is a walk out basement apartment of a family's main residence with private entrance. The kitchen is exactly what we need, and there is a grill on the patio as well. Dh just today was told by his doc that he wants him off dairy for a few months, and I am allergic to wheat. Restaurants will be pretty much off limits. So cooking is a must. I am glad we wont be begging a hotel for permission to let us hunch over a portable hibachi outside in the parking lot which we have had to do before. Thanks everyone!
  22. I came in to see what Bill said, because Bill is the guru of coffee. I have many hugs for you because if my medical practitioner told me he/she was altering my coffee routine, it would DefCon 5 around here!
