Pata
I was able to get a copy for English 2 to look over for next year and it has left me with one question. How do you handle copywork?
MIch elle
and used the worksheets that you may buy for gr.3-8. They aren't for all the lessons so then dc do odd or even of the written exercises from that lesson.
Pata
So you count the written work for the exercises as your copywork? That sounds easy! Anyone else? Edited December 5, 2008 by Pata
Titus.Two.Five
We use R&S English *and* penmanship in the lower grades. The penmanship has excellent copywork so that covers it for us.
swellmomma
We use R&S 3, along with copywork books from Queen homeschool, and they get additional practice with their penmanship practice
Blue Hen
What I did was to do R&S orally, photocopied pages that required DS to circle something or put punctuation in,.... For copywork I pulled a Classic off the shelf, opened the book, and DS started doing copywork. That easy! We also used his RA books or the books he was reading for copywork. sweetbaby
I agree. Writing the sentences unto paper makes excellent copy work. We are using Spelling Wisdom also.
Kelli in TN
I make copywork sheets using Startwrite software. I just pick snippets of poetry, scripture, wise sayings and make my own copywork sheets for each child.
coffeefreak
We did R&S English 2 orally so it didn't conflict with handwriting/copywork. If there was something I wanted her to write (like when they're learning to write paragraphs), I would count that at our "writing" for the day, and there would be no copywork or handwriting assignments. Pata
Thanks guys! Now I can see in my head how it could work.
Peela
Ds13 does R&S partly orally, plus he does the separate worksheets. He does separate copywork/dictation (yes, he still needs it!). I use Spelling Wisdom, Queen's LL, or either he or I choose a passage.
