  1. I always freeze milk! I thaw mine in the sink with cold water (just like you would turkey, for example, changing the water every hour) and have no problems with it thawing. The bonus is that the milk lasts LONGER in the fridge if it had been frozen. Strange...but true. :001_smile:
  2. Here is the WTM Blog Ring: http://alt-webring.com/cgi-bin/list.pl?ringid=HIVEMIND
  3. Oh goodness, you are not a failure! My 2nd grader is the same way, however, something that has worked here: 8:00 pm is bedtime, you may go to sleep OR you may read until 8:30 :D
  4. About Three Workbooks Series and then Rod and Staff Preschool both can be found at http://www.rodandstaffbooks.com
  5. Just stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas! :)

  6. Daily: Bible Math Reading/Literature English Spelling Piano Bi-weekly: Science History Latin
  7. We use R&S English *and* penmanship in the lower grades. The penmanship has excellent copywork so that covers it for us.
  8. If you'd be interested in an unused copy of Abeka K5 Cursive feel free to PM me. I sure wouldn't charge you $8 for shipping! lol ;)
  9. I prefer to delay *formal* grammar until grade 3, focusing on phonics, fluent reading, and beginning spelling in grades 1 and 2. However, we are using FLL this year in 2nd grade. It is gentle, not what I consider *formal* grammar, and it is a great way for me to be sure we get our narration and memory work in. ;) We use 1 lesson per day, so we will finish the whole book in this year and can then move onto R&S English 3 in 3rd grade.
  10. I buy my prepared slides from Rainbow Resource
  11. My plan for my youngest is the About Three Series followed by Rod and Staff Complete Preschool and then right into Rod and Staff Grade 1 when ready. That would cover: math, phonics/reading, and handwriting. For art, my kids are constantly using their free time to do artsy/crafty stuff. :D
  12. The above are the things I am using to teach outlining to my dd13 and ds12.
  13. Bible, Phonics/Reading, Handwriting, Math, Science/Literature read alouds
  14. Just working on our supper for tonight...no Thanksgiving cooking yet. :) Meatloaf Cornbread Steamed Veggies
