My nephew is having a birthday and is a huge fan of this show. I see that there are a number of companion cookbooks. Does anyone have a particular favorite among them?

I think we have all of them, and I wouldn’t say one stands out as the best. If I was giving it as a gift, I’d include an inexpensive food scale because the recipes use weight rather than volume.

Thanks, so I can’t go wrong - good to know. I gave him a baking scale last birthday, so he’s good there. Any other bits and bobs that might be required?

Thanks! Apparently he prefers the Mary Berry episodes (I take it she is no longer on the show) and I did see some of her books were available. 🙂

There is now a woman named "Pru." She's fine; I just like Mary Berry. 🙂

Once you pick the cookbook you can see if anything calls for special equipment.

One possible piece of equipment: I've noticed on GBBO that contestants often use pans that can be configured in different ways.  I'm not sure what they're called.
