swimmermom3
All three of my young adults are moving into new digs in the next few months. Can you suggest good, basic cookbooks that offer quick, tasty meals, but that also teach some of the basics?

Liz CA
The Barefoot Contessa has one titled: "Back to Basics." I like her overall approach. If you want to get into more serious food and science, perhaps "Nourishing Traditions."

What exciting news! I wish them all well. (No cookbook recommendations from me; I'm sadly non-domestic.) Regards, Kareni
Carol in Cal.
For a super simple and funny introduction, "The Impoverished Students' Guide to Eatery, Drinkery, and Housewifery" is my go to first cookbook for young adults going out on their own. It is available from the bookstore at Reed College, including by mail order. The bread recipe is really good. The chicken with rice is great, works like magic. So does the one where you use the leftover chicken from that first one.
klmama
Better Homes and Gardens is a good cook book; the link is to the 2018 edition.
