Usually when TSA confiscates something you have the option of having it mailed to your home at your expense.  I guess they won't do that for the unexploded shell. . .

I'm not sure I'd recognize something as being an unexploded munition. (not sure I'm using that word correctly)  I don't think I'm dumb!

I think this is a good psa!  I'm taking away: If it in any way looks like a weapon, bomb etc leave it be!  I'm also assuming one should tell authorities?

Having grown up in a place that was on the receiving end of copious WW2 bombings, this was drilled into us since kindergarten: any strange metal object you don't recognize could be unexploded ammunition. Never assume otherwise.

What did the woman think this was???

 

ETA: To put things into perspective: they still remove over 100 TONS of WW2 ammunition in Germany every year. There are still 3,000 bombs buried in Berlin alone.
