Night Elf
I have a 4-cup Mr. Coffee maker. The black paint is coming off the hot plate, the flat hot space the glass pot sits on. I thought it was something stuck on the plate so I scrubbed it and more paint came off. I can see silver under there. Is this bad for the coffee pot? When the plate heats, will it super heat that one area and break my pot? Should I get another one instead? They're only $20 so I don't mind replacing it. Prairie~Phlox
I don't think it will hurt anything, the paint came off of ours as well on my husbands still uses it.
Lizzie in Ma
I think the bigger problem is that you only have a 4 cup coffeemaker. :D
MEmama
All our coffee makers have done that too. I wouldn't worry about it.
Night Elf
I think the bigger problem is that you only have a 4 cup coffeemaker. :D Dd19 and I are the only coffee drinkers in the house and she's away at college. I do own a larger coffee maker for when I have a get together though. So I'm covered!
J-rap
That sometimes happens to ours too, and I've never thought it was a problem.
Arcadia
I thought the paint was just aesthetic so that you won't see how dirty the hot plate portion is compared to plain stainless steel. The paint coming off isn't a problem and rather common.
SparklyUnicorn
Mine did this too, and it was not a problem. I've had expensive coffee makers and none of them held up as long as the cheap Mr. Coffees!
