regentrude
Just a dusting, but at least it finally feels like winter. Yesterday a cold front swept through, and temps dropped from 43 yesterday morning to 2 degrees today. We would have loved to go hiking, but roads outside of town are bad and we cant get to a trailhead, so we just stepped out the door and went for a long walk. It was beautiful and peaceful, and we saw almost no people except for a few dog walkers, but lots of birds.

maize
We had first snow the week before Thanksgiving. This past week has been a mixture of snow, rain, and one rather violent hail storm. I bought new sleds for the kids so hopefully we get a nice deep snowfall again soon, I wasn't up to taking them last time and there's not much on the ground at the moment. When I lived in snow country, this is the part I always enjoyed ....until it came time to drive in it, shovel the driveway, clear heavy, moist snow off outbuildings with weaker roof structures, haul in wood, etc.
