tammyw
My kid! He's mourning the loss now of the Rokenbok set we donated a while back, lol. I'd love to find some awesome sets that are for a kid who is bright and likes to build but was never that much into lego.

fdrinca
Someone on this board recommended the King of Math (and King of Math Junior) apps. My kids like them well enough, especially that they are not timed. Sometimes, I will have my daughter pick an interesting game from the list of math games on Easy Peasy: https://allinonehomeschool.com/math-facts-practice/ Some are duds, and some are just ridiculous (Zombie Prom, I'm looking at you), but she enjoys being able to chose a game. happypamama
Nerf guns. That's what my boys ask for. They also love Ticket to Ride. Edited October 27, 2016 by happypamama
UCF612
My 9yo boy is asking for a 3D pen. Not sure if they are worth it (I haven't researched yet) but it is one of the few things he wants. We already own most every game mentioned in this thread. Board games are big in our house.

zaichiki
My 10 year old is very interested in the Meccano Meccasaur: https://www.amazon.com/Meccano-6028398-Meccasaur/dp/B019K8J7VA. I've read that it's very similar to Lego, but includes some programming... I've also read that it's very popular with the kids for a long time after it's built (a plus!).
