Soph the vet
...if you have time to read it!:D Only 451 pages complete with other bills attached to woo certain segments of our legislature into voting for it. Too many earmarks, IMO. http://senateconservatives.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/ayo08c32_xml.pdf I've heard highlights, I'm planning on Evelyn Wood Speed Reading later today!! From what I have heard we are still handing Paulson too much power.
Aubrey
Ummm...got the cliff notes version? LOL Or maybe audio...dh could listen while he drives & give me the hilights. If he listens fast. What arethe odds, do you think, that the legislators have time to read 451 pp before tomorrow?

From what I have heard we are still handing Paulson too much power. Phew. 451 pages. I heard Speaker Pelosi mention in a press conference the other night that the President had sent over a 3 page document. She later stated that the Congress was not voting on their bill, but on the President's bill. Sounds like they've had a lot to say with that 3 pages! So much for stepping up and taking some responsibility here. There's plenty of blame and responsibility to hand all around, so I'm really tired of hearing Pelosi say that the Democrats have nothing to do with this economic situation. :001_huh: Maybe if she says it enough someone might believe her. Don't mean to divert your post. It just struck me how long it now is. Hope some of the additional time has allowed for some serious safeguards to be added and some of the total junk to be taken out. Has anyone noticed that it's been nearly 2 weeks since this all started, so there really was time to hold some hearings?
