I'm not particularly religious, but on the occasions I spend time thinking about questions of spirituality I wonder if perhaps there is a sort of energy that we don't have the science or technology to detect yet that is what makes living things alive rather than just sacs of tissues and fluid. If so it makes sense to me that that energy would not simply disappear when a living thing dies. So then it is possible the same energy might later be found in another living thing. If I really stretch myself I can also see how maybe that energy could retain some of the pattern it took on during the life of the previous thing it was part of.

 

So I guess I can't rule it out.

 

ETA - I chose rainbows. I'm close-ish to atheist, and I love rainbows. I agree about paisley being of the devil though.
