Night Elf
It's on sale half off now. We don't get trick or treaters at all so we never buy candy. But this morning at the grocery store it just called out to me. I now have a big bowl of candy. What have I done? *sigh*
Dmmetler
DD's birthday is in November, so I stock up on half-price candy for her party. Yeah, that's it...it's for the party....
happi duck
Halloween candy...there's so many ways to justify having it in the house! It's for the kids! I need a second bag (of my favorite) just in case we get 5000 trick or treaters! Tradition! It's half off! This will be the Christmas we make a gingerbread replica of our house! St. Nick's day is just around the corner!
momto10blessings
I use it for st Nicholas day and Christmas stockings!
JustEm
Um I make no excuses and just own the fact that I indulge in way too much candy twice a year, Halloween and Easter! This year we didn't get discounted candy though. Instead my dh bought a bunch of count chocula and boo berry because it can only be found during this season. Lucky for me I hate both of those cereals. He even bought four boxes for his sister for Christmas.
nevergiveup
I did the exact same thing today! I actually priced it out by ounce to see which was the better deal, too. Then I came home and hid it.....
Night Elf
You know I wondered what exactly would go on sale since a lot of "Halloween candy" is just basic candy. Only certain ones are Halloween themed in shape or packaging, right? Like I would guess maybe Reese's pumpkins would go on sale, but not the bag of normal Butterflingers, etc. Unless the bag exterior is all Halloweeny?? I thought the same thing, but it was regular bags of candy that went on sale. No Halloween theme.
Chris in VA
You can always freeze some of it. Frozen snickers....MMMMmmmmmmmmm.... Yeah, it's not a deterrent in any way.
Desert Strawberry
I use it for stockings and baking. I made candy corn rice crispy treats yesterday.
Lizzie in Ma
lol, I hear you. The day after Halloween and the day after Valentines are like national holidays for my frugal youngest. ;)
