ShelliR
I post on here a little but just wanted to post that my daughter lives (lived) in the dorms of Union University in Jackson and it was completely destroyed, but she is fine!(Altlhough she says one pair of underware is NOT fine..) Praise the Lord! We are also from Jackson and our house is perfectly fine. I told my husband that it's time to move! Anyone else have a student at Union on here? Kelli in TN
Hey there, you!!! Isn't God just so gracious???:) Buy that girl some underwear!! Do you still have extra Union kids at your house? Bobby asked me if I thought we ought to take in a Union student, but we are so maxed out on space already, I have to give it some serious thought. battlemaiden
I have seen a few students interviewed from Union. Wow. They were so level headed and calm. I'm sure they weren't so calm during the tornado, but they were so composed during the interviews. They seem like a close knit school. I'm so glad your dd is okay. Lisa at Home
While I don't know anyone at Union, and no longer live in Tenneessee, one of our friends was hurt during the storm. Here is the e-mail he sent to the accounts he manages. We're so glad he's ok, and that your dd is ok, and that Kelli and so many others are ok!!! ((((hugs)))) ~Lisa "I left my house Tuesday night at 10:PM heading to ******** *****. At 10:03 PM I was in the middle of a Tornado. Everyone around me was killed. My van was the only thing left more than 6 inches above ground level. Pieces of house, trees, bricks, toilet pieces, ect, came through my window. I was thrown off the road and ended up beside a 250 gallon propane tank that was punctured and spewing all over the place. I saved my face and eyes by holding my hands over my face but I am covered with lacerations. I was covered with trees and trapped in my van. It was pitch black, I could not see anything. I knew that I was bleeding badly. I could feel it running down my arms. After minutes of fear a 4-wheel drive came to my rescue. The wind was so violent that it actually blew one of my wiper blades through my front windshield! All I know is that the Lord saved me. Luckily I am fine. Just shaken up some. I hope all of you dodged the bullet."

My husband (who teaches there) told some of the students who were staying with us after the storm that they could tell everyone that "My education at Union just blew me a way." That dorky humor saved us yesterday let me tell ya.

Bobby asked me if I thought we ought to take in a Union student, but we are so maxed out on space already, I have to give it some serious thought. Got her some underwear/socks/ shoes today. One of the parents of a girl that we housed, just handed her a hundred dollar bill. That was SO NICE. They will be looking to house students semi-permanently for the rest of the semester, but I'm like you.... where would I put them? My kids are already arguing about who looses their room, now that big sis is here to stay...
*anj*
Wow, that's amazing, just amazing. What a blessing, to hear that your daughter is fine, and she got some new skivvies to boot! Praise the Lord!
Terabith
I grew up in Jackson, but my dad was a professor at Lambuth, not Jackson. I don't live there anymore, but my sister does. How scary! It's weird to be watching CNN and seeing footage of your hometown.
