Costco pizzas are FIL's favorite and we're going - could I buy a few and freeze them?

Have you ever frozen ready to bake pizzas?  If so, did they turn out well?

They sell them frozen now.....Kirkland brand, 4 pack of cheese only or 3 pack of thicker and with pepperoni for $10

 

The pizzas are smaller in size than those giant ones.

I freeze the baked ones all the time. They reheat nicely and have a slightly crispier crust but I like them like that.

Yep. We buy a bunch at the beginning of the month and freeze. They're fine.

Yeah, we always freeze them too. We've even baked it from frozen at a lower temp for a longer time and it works.

good to know they sell them in the frozen state- as I would then expect the packaging to handle being frozen.

 

 

the regular boxes they come in - even those sold inside in the refrigerator - are not meant to be frozen and they won't protect a frozen pizza.

We bought them from the frozen section... they are really good!  Four in a pack for $10.  They are smaller, but still worth it!

That is a really good price.  We have a Sam's membership but will probably switch to Costco at renewal time.  

Although, Sam's pizzas are pretty great too.

The frozen Costco pizza I bought tasted nothing like the hot pizza from the food court. The crust wasn't as good. We prefer to buy the hot pizza and reheat it.

Do you have a pizza stone? I found that it radically improves crusts.

We really like the frozen Costco ones. They are similar to the ones in the ready to cook and in the little cafe area in that all have a similar tasting sauce and a similar crust thickness, but definitely a little different. I bake the frozen ones on a super thin baking sheet that doesn't disperse the heat as much. I find that a proper cookie sheet, which is great for cookies, isn't so good for pizza. I'm sure a stone would be good too, but this is faster and the whole point of frozen pizza is convenience.

Costco offers 3 pizzas, all different.

Hot pizza- uber greasy, huge slices, delish

Ready to bake- OK, slightly 'upscale' compared to both the hot and the frozen

Frozen - super cheap, delightful, but low rent for sure
