Homeschooling in February- am I the only one who loves it?

February is almost always the most productive month of our school year.  I'm starting to feel like a freak!  Things I love about February:

It's in a lull between sports and our schedule tends to be light.

It's a lull between church holidays and our ministry schedule tends to be light.

We stay home more when it's raining. (the drought is really cramping my style)

My kids are calmer.  They slow down and read more.

The neighborhood kids (though I really do love my kids' neighborhood social lives) tend to come around less.

We get a LOT of school done.

February is the month that I recover from my "holiday, we're falling behind" panic and I start to realize that we can indeed finish the school year mostly on time.

Just don't talk to me about May.

We always have a good run between New Year's and Spring Break. I think the reasons you list help explain why. I personally get a bad case of spring fever every year, but we start finishing subjects in April and are usually done by the end of May, so that helps. We have a good run at the beginning of the year, too. Our hardest times are the holidays and spring.
