I use slightly cracked eggs all the time. It took some practice for me to learn how to bring eggs home safely in plastic bags stuffed full of them. When I'm buying them in cartons in the US, I always check them at the store, so I wouldn't be bothered to use one that had cracked on the way home.

But if I hadn't checked them at the store, and if I were making food for someone else, I probably wouldn't use them.

No.

Absolutely, positively do not use cracked eggs. You could end up making a lot of people every sick.

I knew the answer to this question but I was sort of hoping that someone would tell me how silly I was for throwing eggs like this away for all of these years....I, too, check them before I buy them...but I don't normally check the bottoms...and sure enough there were 4 eggs that were slightly cracked on the bottom...I was bummed.

Just came back from the store where I bought more eggs for tomorrow.

thanks.

I only use cracked eggs if they were cracked a few hours previously. We grow our own. so if the egg cracked as the kids were collecting it then I would bake something with it later in the day. otherwise I would chuck it out.

I am a person who doesn't refrigerate eggs cracked eggshell = no barrier against bacteria
