Meriwether
I'd like to start Dd10 on Myst, but it doesn't look like it is compatible with our computer. I tried running my old Riven and it wouldn't play. Is there anything I can do?
Chris in VA
Hope so--Myst was so fun! Ah--googled and came up with this. Didn't read it, don't know if it will help.
Mergath
You can always buy them from gog.com. They're really cheap, only a couple bucks.
Meriwether
Merchant, I saw that when I googled, but the price made me think it might not be the full version or something. Have you bought things there before?
Meriwether
Sorry, the Kindle autocorrected your name.

Meriwether, I've bought it, and started playing it a little bit. Just looking around in it some, and it is just like the original game. There hasn't been any improvement in graphics or anything. It is just the game as I remember it. I can't say if it is the full game, though, as I haven't played through the whole thing yet.
PrincessMommy
It's so funny you bring this up. I've been thinking about Myst lately and wondering how I can get a copy of it.
Meriwether
Okay, I tried to download it, but it won't open. Do I need to change my settings somehow?
mlbuchina
I know when I downloaded it, I clicked on the picture on the self looking page, and an information page came up. I clicked on the line that says "Windows Installer, English", and it downloaded. I clicked on the downloaded file, and followed the instructions given. Hope that helps! Meriwether
All I can get is the sound. I hate technology.
Mergath
Yup, it's the full version. I'm not sure why it isn't working, but if you email gog they should be able to help you. It says it's xp compatible, so I can't imagine why you only have sound.
Moxie
Ah, memories. I loved those games! When DH and I were newlyweds, we'd sit up all night playing them. Are there any current games like those? An app would be even better!
Farrar
You can get them as an app on the iPad. My boys loved them. They were especially hooked on Riven.

Are there any current games like those? An app would be even better! Tons! If you google "PC adventure games," you'll find lists of more games than you could play in a lifetime. There are apps too, although the quality on those seems to vary much more than with the pc games, but you just have to look in the same genre. WishboneDawn
Merchant, I saw that when I googled, but the price made me think it might not be the full version or something. Have you bought things there before? We but lots from them. They are full games and drm free unlike SOME services (*cough*steam*cough*). It's is an excellent site and I have nothing but warm and fuzzy feelings for GOG.
WishboneDawn
Another site for old games, DOS games, is Home of the Underdogs. You'll need DOSbox to run most of them but it's like heaven for old school gamers.
Garga
You can get Myst as an ipad app. I did a few months ago. Oh, the memories of that water island with the elevators. Loved it!
PrincessMommy
You can get Myst as an ipad app. I did a few months ago. Oh, the memories of that water island with the elevators. Loved it! I was just looking around and found that Syberia is also available for the tablet & on gog.com. I loved playing that game. I guess it just depends on the platform you prefer.
