ksr5377
DD who is 5 wants a pretty, beautiful nightgown for Christmas that touches the floor. Any ideas on where to find something a little fancier but not pay a ridiculous price for it? Should I just make it?
Mrs Mungo
There are tons of them on etsy for under $30. It doesn't seem unreasonable since low quality mass produced PJs are around $15-20 each at a minimum.
plansrme
Try searching for "petticoat" or "cotton slip." "Nightgowns" have to be either close-fitting or flame-resistant, so long, pretty nightgowns marketed as such are mostly not there, but a number of vendors sell lovely petticoats and slips that look an awful lot like old-fashioned nightgowns. One of my daughters had one years ago from April Cornell that was pricey but beautiful, and it was listed as a petticoat and marketed to go under dresses. ksr5377
www.woodensoldier.com These are gorgeous!!! Thank you for the link. And I don't know why I never thought to look on Etsy before, I never think of going there for clothing. I could technically make it myself, but I don't sew that often, so it takes me quite awhile. It would be THE labor of love for this holiday and not something I had planned on.
