Susie in SWVA
I am hosting a make-your-own-pizza party on Sunday evening. What kind of toppings should I be sure to have on hand? I don't want to miss anything someone might want! Susie in SWVA

Susie in SWVA
Oh, thanks! Keep them coming. The spinach, chicken and sun-dried tomatoes sounds really good. My son-in-law makes a yummy pizza with carmelized onions, ham and feta.
AdamsFamily
My dd last bday party involved making your own pizza. We kept it simple: pepperoni, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, green peppers, pinapple, mozz cheese, and pizza sauce. She had a guest that could not eat dairy nor gluten, and this worked great for her. She brought her own base and cheese. I made the pizza sauce, so she could use that. Everyone loved it!
ElizabethB
My husband likes any kind of meat with jalapeños. He also liked green chilis on his pizza when we lived in Albuquerque, but you just can't find good green chilis in most of the rest of the country. cjzimmer1
BBQ sauce, I'm not a big fan of pizza sauce, but BBQ sauce is great.
Pegasus
I do not know how elaborate you want to be but we are planning something similar and also plan to make a white sauce (essentially like an alfredo sauce) and have things like chicken and spinach to use with it. lavender's green
Fresh basil is really good on a simple mozzarella pizza. Water chestnuts for spinach-artichoke pizzas. Bacon. Need I say more? Eggplant if you think your guests are adventurous enough for it. I happen to be mildly allergic to it, but it does make an interesting topping. Roasted garlic. Nice olives. Crushed red pepper flakes. My parents once brought velveeta cheese and ranch dressing to a bring your own toppings pizza party. Apparently that combo was a huge hit. :ack2: Yes, I'm considered the family snob. magic
We do build your own pizza quite often. We always offer tomato pizza sauce and pesto for a base, we have also offered alfredo sauce, ranch dressing, and bbq sauce. The toppings we try to have available are: pepperoni sausage canadian bacon chicken strips black olives green olives sundried tomatoes variety of peppers onions mushrooms mozzarella cheese asiago or romano cheese parmesan cheese cheddar cheese feta cheese and whatever else catches my eye to add to the mix
