  1. Church and Sunday School this morning. Out to lunch for my birthday. (Seem to be a lot of Ides of March birthdays on here. Happy Birthday to all!) Sat on the porch in the glorious sun! Thinking about my garden. Church this evening, then hot dogs and ice cream sundaes at a friend's.
  2. Good morning everyone! I'm back! Well, I never actually went anywhere. Three of my grandchildren were here for the week, so I did grandchildrenly things all week. Resting up today and doing very little. Start seeds and repot larger ones. I still can't get into the garden because of mud. Tidy up the toy basket Tammy - enjoy your grandbabies! Luckymama - send some soda bread my way.
  3. Jean - Sorry about an upsetting doctor. Hope it goes well. This morning - grocery shopping. Afternoon - prepare for dd and grandchildren's visit Evening - pizza and fellowship at our pastor's house. Have a good, restful weekend everyone.
  4. Missed you all yesterday. I was busy catching up on some things that didn't get done. Today - dd and grandchildren preparations. Cooking, baking cleaning guestroom, etc. They aren't coming until Sunday, but I'll have other things to do tomorrow. My daughter's husband is going to be gutting and redoing their ONLY bathroom, hence their visit. :) Robins in the front yard. Deer in the backyard. Love it!
  5. Very foggy here. ds, the photographer (among other things) spent part of the morning outside photographing. I just got my second load of dishes going, For today Bake bread Wash quilts Repot larger seedlings Clean and organize attic (it's small, but getting out of control) ds to Tai Chi
  6. I am 63 and have rarely used moisturizers. I am blonde with fair skin so I have always been careful of the sun. I have recently started to use this - http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandsalve.com/products/details/for-the-face/moisturizers/whipped-butters/whipped-squalane-face-eye-mousse- after noticing some crow's feet and wrinkly areas around my mouth. It seems to work wonders almost immediately. I love it! ( I also use their soaps and shampoo bars, which I and my family love.) Honestly, I have NO connection with this company! :laugh:

  8. Happy March! (I like March.) The longer I wait to write this down, the longer my list is getting. Done Kitchen cleaned Chicken broth in freezer. Read aloud - ds16 and I are reading The Innocence of Father Brown (GK Chesterton) and thoroughly enjoying it. Vacuum upstairs ( we have a loft where school is done, but it is also the TV room and my dh who is a fly fisherman, has a fly tying table up there) To do Laundry, including sheets Wash kitchen floor Bake banana bread to freeze - lots of brown bananas and grandchildren coming next week Laundry, including ironing Clean mudroom and mudroom bathroom Marinate meat for French Dips tomorrow Take ds to Kung Fu 6-8:30 Clean mud room and mud room bathroom

  10. Good morning! I missed posting yesterday. We had our 4th snowstorm in 10 days and I have cabin fever! This is not usual for us. My car is buried and dh manages to get to work in our farm truck. The plan - Read Coffee Read Wash kitchen floor Make sure a little schoolwork gets done Fold laundry Read Clean off this desk! That should do it. Did I mention coffee? Have a great day, y'all!
  11. Good morning everyone. It is snowing here again and the woodstove is so cozy that it is hard to get anything done! Schools have been closed here for 1 1/2 weeks and I am starting to feel like a slave-driver, so I told ds we would do a light day of study today. Clean kitchen - done Clean mud room - totally hopeless cause :-) Bake cookies for the boys - dh and ds Think of something for dinner so I don't have to go out to the store Listen to Act 1 of Richard III with ds Etc...
  12. DH didn't have to be at work untl 8:45 this morning (weather related), so we got off to a late start. Clean kitchen Laundry Sweep and vacuum Latin with ds Start escarole and sorrel Make a batch of bierrocks Don't know if ds will have Kung Fu tonight, schools are closed here, so I may or may not go anywhere tonight Have a good and productive day everyone!
  13. I think I have posted once or twice here, so you all don't know me, but I frquently follow this thread because it is very encouraging to me. Church services were cancelled due to the weather today, so I am a bit at a loss. I do need to find my kitchen this morning. It is under that mess somewhere. Make bean soup and muffins. Read.   15. We adopted from Russia with Children's Home Society of Minnesota (we live in Virginia). They have been around a long time, were extremely helpful here and in Russia. We had a very good experience. They do adoptions from many countries and domestic. Susie in SWVA

  17. We live in Southwest Virginia close to western NC. Beautiful! We were in California before we moved here. (DH was in the Army.) It was like coming to the garden of Eden! Come for a visit. I think you"ll stay. Susie in SWVA
  18. Yes. A restaurant that I worked for did that, only they didn't freeze it because they used it too fast. They just kept it in the fridge.

  20. We went to the zoo on Christmas Day in Wichita, KS. It was a fairly mild day and we had so much fun! I say go with the zoo.
