purplejackmama
Ok, hate to show my ignorance but is this game difficult to learn? My daughter got this for Christmas last night and I was so overwhelmed with the set up that we never even actually learned how to play. Tell me this game is fun and any suggestions for learning the actual game plan. Hoping to blame my failure on sheer holiday exhaustion :-)
bbmom
We LOVE this game and once you play it you'll get it. I would blame exhaustion and try again :)
Lakeside
It is a fun game! We've played it with a variety of ages as well as people with different levels of interest in games and it has been a hit. I don't have any specific suggestions, but I would give it a few tries. I've found that sometimes it takes a few times playing a new game in order for all the different parts to click. Being exhausted always makes it more difficult! ;)
nmoira
Very fun. Not difficult. You're buying tickets to complete trips. You buy them a segment at a time (one named city to another) and you don't have to buy them in order, or finish one trip before starting another. You can use one or more segments to complete more than one trip; a trip can also be contained entirely within another one or other ones. Mrs Mungo
Wil Wheaton has a youtube series called Tabletop where they play board games. They play Ticket to Ride in one of the episodes. I find that it helps to watch someone else play. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=qHmf1bau9xQ&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DqHmf1bau9xQ

Remudamom
We got this too! (Ours hasn't exactly arrived yet but...) Can't wait to play.
myfunnybunch
We started Ticket to Ride today also. The set-up seems overwhelming at first. Be patient and follow the set-up instructions carefully. :) Once we got it all set up, my 7 y.o.--oops, 8! Birthday today too--was able to follow the game and play without assistance. We were a little bummed that we had to quit in the middle to go open afternoon presents. Cat
GWOB
Santa brought our kids Ticket To Ride this morning. I haven't played it with them yet, but all 3 had a blast playing, even the 5yo. It must not be too difficult if the 5yo played.
Guest
We got it, too! It was a blast, and my 7yo beat us all. :) Hope you've had luck with it by now...
