I need stocking stuffer ideas for adults.... :bigear:

In my family we only did stockings for the kids, and from what we were told/heard, my parents were the only ones who did stockings at all. This phased out when we were teens. Dh's family didn't do stockings at all, so it was a totally new thing for him when we got married. Over the years he's gotten to the point where he enjoys filling the kids' stockings as much as I do. Now....I found a Christmas tablecloth panel in my material stash just now and on the corners of the panel are four small stockings..... I was thinking about making them into small adult stockings. There are three adults here (myself, Dh, and dh's brother).....and.....

If you do adult stockings what do you put in them?

Ooh...Peter and I give each other stockings every year.

Last Christmas he put small kitchen gadgets, a bottle of perfume, Godiva chocolates, candles for my office, earrings, and a gift certificate for a massage in mine.

I put drawing pencils, a new tie clasp and cuff links, some mini-photos of the kids I'd framed, chocolate-covered almonds, chewing gum, and a gift certificate for a massage in his.

Great minds think alike.

DH and I do stockings too. Little things go in, like candy, a flash drive, etc. This year I've gotten DH a small portable hard drive that I will load up with a ton of audiobooks for his trips to and from school (min one hour ea. way). Got most of the books when Kindle/Audible had that freebie offer a while back, some on Cyber Monday when Audible had a sale.

We do adult stockings, too. In fact, a few years ago, I found a neat Nutcracker-themed stocking at PBK, and I filled it with goodies and gave it to my sister at Christmas. She liked it so much she gave it back to me and asked me to fill it again the next year! So now I'm filling stockings for the 4 in my family, plus my sister, her significant other and my mom. For the adults, I put in things like travel sizes toothpaste and shampoo, maybe lip balm or fun bandaids, chocolate (of course!), and things like bottles of holiday beer or Coke (one per stocking, to fill them up!), the olives that come in a bag, tea, and even gourmet rice packets. One year, I added little bottles of maple syrup, and sometimes I put in mini liquor bottles, too. I haven't really started with this year's stockings yet, but I need to get crackin.'

dh and I still have a stocking and it gets filled usually with small things like favorite candy, chapstick, gift cards (starbucks or game stop), sometimes gloves/hats, or small silly things.

Thanks for the ideas!

I'm trying to stay away from candy for myself....so I really like the idea of candles! Thanks!

I'm now trying to come up with a list of things to buy. It would have been a lot easier if I'd thought of this two or three months ago! :001_smile:

Thanks for the ideas! My list is getting longer each time I refresh this page! :001_smile: I love tea, but we usually buy loose leaf tea....so I might add a box of tea bags to the list for me. Dh can let the kids pick the flavor out. We all like a local ginger beer so I might get some of those.... (coke is good, but I'm the only one who drinks it).

DH and I do stockings for each other. Candy, little tools, socks, little things.

Thanks for the ideas.....I'm really ready to go shopping now! :hurray:

There are some pinterest boards with good ideas. I will warn you that I took the chance of searching adult stocking stuffers for you. I don't necessarily advise it, lol.

OK, this is a kid idea, but look at the superhero bookmarks on this page, this idea could be adapted with favorite authors or people from history, think of the possibilities:

Thanks again! I will take a look....and will take your advice and avoid searching! :001_smile:

The kids found my list and have decided that yes, they are going to pick everything out for me. They were even happy to take the knitted dishcloth that I just finished making....to add it to my stocking.

What I need to be doing- writing the last 4000 words to my NaNoWriMo novel. What I definitely do not need to be doing- finding another 20 crafty ideas for Christmas that I just do not have time for. So many cute ideas on those pinboards.

I found a lot of things that I instantly wanted to make too....things for me - which doesn't help me fill Dh's stocking!

For dh, I get stuff like beef jerky, nuts, wrist bands for workouts, maple sugar candies, nail clippers, scratch off lottery tickets, etc.
