clarkacademy
Does anyone ever do anything like this in their homeschool?
regentrude
No. My kids found it stupid when they attended public school. Replicating it at home would be kind of pointless and not something that ever occurred to either of us.
Jpoy85
never thought about it. :)
Hoot
We do "Pajama Day" almost everyday, does that count? :tongue_smilie::D
marbel
Hmmm... no, never occurred to me, but I'm curious: What would one do? (I never got the point of it in high school, but then I never got the point of much about high school anyway. Isn't it usually related to football or something?) Dmmetler
We don't do Spirit week, but we do the "Special" days now and then-usually when her dance friends are talking about getting to do Dr. Seuss day and coming up with an activity. I'll let DD plan it, and we'll do the same sort of silly things her friends talk about; usually it's a matter of wearing something special or bringing some stuffed animals into the classroom. She enjoys these special experiences, and feels more like she's not missing anything. I guess if she wanted to do so, we could do Spirit week-maybe the week before her dance recital or something, since that week is usually filled with enough late night rehearsals that school is minimal anyway! Shelsi
We have special days like PJ day, costume day, weird hair day, etc. We don't do it for a whole week though, just here and there. My kids LOVED spirit week so it's one of those things I have to recreate at home to keep them feeling OK about being HS'd.
