I love thunderstorms but they give me terrible headaches

Recommended Posts

Any low pressure system will give me a horrible sinus headache or migraine. Yesterday a front moved through, and I sure paid for it. Family and friends often will text me alerts to watch for incoming weather. Since moving away from the Gulf, I have had fewer headaches due to fewer low pressure systems and storms.

The first time I ever noticed the connection was when I worked as a camp counselor. Being in open air tents and cabins, our every activity was influenced by the weather. My headache came just before the storms. :tongue_smilie:

My later life activities moved me back inside, but I still feel the weather effects. Most recently surrounding TS Isaac's landfall. :glare:

Is there anything you do for relief?

I've been suspecting for a couple of years that one of the triggers for these terrible sinus type headache I get are from thunderstorms.

I've been looking around and sure enough, severe weather seems to be a trigger.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes. One "trigger" for my migraines is lower barometric pressure.

My dh gets a headache almost every time a low pressure system passes through.
