Lara in Colo
You can give a puppy a kong chew toy, a monkey play animal and a rubber ball, but they would rather chew through the electric cord?
TheReader
You can give a puppy a kong chew toy, a monkey play animal and a rubber ball, but they would rather chew through the electric cord? (hugs) Hope you can salvage the cord! and it wasn't plugged in/didn't hurt the puppy! Dealing with the same, although the bigger obstacle at my house is convincing the Golden that yes, the puppy is allowed at least one toy of his own. So far, she just steals everything he gets his teeth on.
Lara in Colo
It is an extension that is attached to a lamp on one end and a "turn on and off" outlet on the other---- so the puppy is fine, the cord that I use every day--- not so much. melissad2
IDK but my vacuum cleaner cord has been spliced in about 3 places and is about 3ft shorter than its supposed to be thanks to a teething puppy :toetap05:

wintermom
I think it's the law of puppyhood. Chew toys are only to make your owners happy. Chewing cords, clothing and furniture make the puppy happy! :001_smile:
dm379
In our case, because the bathroom door wasn't enough.

gingersmom
My insane oversized puppy ate the plastic cover off the electrical outlet. It took me forever to figure out where the pieces of plastic came from. I wish she could tell me why she thought this was a good idea. shanvan
You can give a puppy a kong chew toy, a monkey play animal and a rubber ball, but they would rather chew through the electric cord? Where else would they get all that energy? Ours also enjoyed heating pads for chewing. He got 2 of them, but fortunately did not eat any of the parts. nukeswife
none of my dogs ever chewed a cord, but our old dog who passed 2 years ago did managed to chew a hole in the wall right behind her kennel. Yep she got so bored she chewed a hole in the drywall. What a pain that was to fix.
