*********
I dunno. It makes me a bit sad/nostalgic. I love her so much. We are very, extremely different in our religious beliefs/worldviews, but we've been able to stay close. We had her grad party last weekend. She turns 18 today. She stoped by this weekend to take most of her stuff from here at "dad's" to her mom's. She doesn't have a room here anymore; dss is moving into it. I bought her a pair of flip flops at Old Navy. I don't know why. :tongue_smilie: I could have hugged her foverver when she left. She'll be leaving for college in... 7 1/2 weeks. I have no biological daughters. While I love my sons to the end of the earth, we all know it's different. I'm sad. I'm going to miss her. And the boys are going to miss her, too. Dh is taking her out to lunch today. His work is by her mom's house. It was his idea. I thought that was sweet. This is nothing but an 'I'm sad and going to miss my dsd' post. :tongue_smilie:
KnitWit
:grouphug::grouphug: Tell her how you feel about her. Make a point to keep in touch with her. The flip flops were a great thing. Send her little *happys* like that at school. You can have a friend for life. :grouphug:

Nestof3
Oh Bethany, :grouphug: I can only imagine what things would be like with a daughter, but I do know what it feels like for a son to leave. :grouphug:

Night Elf
Aw.. I'm sorry. It is hard when they get to be that age and we're not yet ready. They grow up too quickly. :grouphug:

Anne
Something you can do for her--write her every day at college! Over and over my girls have said how wonderful it was to have something in the mail box every day. This next year I'll have three to write! I second this!! My kids just loved getting mail/boxes at school! And your boys can send her pictures and notes and so forth! :grouphug: Anne

shellbelle
Your stepdaughter is so blessed to have you! I wish that my own stepmother would have felt that way towards me. I'm sure that she will miss you as well. College students love to get care packages from home. Especially those with homemade cookies!
